Labor Day morning, I didn't feel like laboring over making breakfast. We decided to go to town and eat. Unfortunately, all our usual breakfast haunts were closed for the holiday. We found an Eggbert's and decided to try it.
I was a little discouraged because although there was a pretty big parking lot, there were only a few parking spots available. When we got to the front door, there were four other couples waiting to be served.
I was pretty surprised at how fast they were able to seat the other couples and then us. Our menus and coffee were also brought to us quickly.
The menu was also impressive. Lots of breakfast items and the pictures made me even more hungry than I already was. Due to the packed restaurant, I was prepared to wait quite some time after ordering. Not so. My waffle, eggs and bacon were on my table in no time, and everything was hot and delicious.
Even with all the people eating and coming and going, the restaurant remained clean. Once a table was cleaned off, there was someone with a carpet sweeper cleaning the floor around it. There was also someone with glass cleaner, who was available to clean the front door on a regular basis.
The staff remained pleasant and helpful even though they were running their legs off due to the crowd. Eggbert's obviously had prepared for a busy day and made sure they had enough staff on duty to insure everyone had a positive experience.
I was pleasantly surprised at my experience and I will certainly be coming back.
