Great Time at this Restaurant 2/8/2012

If you want good food and great music, this is a good spot in Pasadena. It gets really packed on Saturday, so you want to get here early or call in ahead. I came in with my fiance with reservation (good thing I did!), and we had a good time. Hookah is really good too! don't waste your money anywhere else if you want to be impressed! Good Find! more

Absolutely Amazing!!! 2/12/2008

Holly Street is amazing! I had my college graduation party there in June and can not describe how beautiful it was. We had it out in the patio and all my friends talked about it for months. The manager was so accomidating and made sure everything was perfect! And it was!!! Just a gorgeous place to have a party or to enjoy some music and excellent food! Five stars for sure! more

A Pasadena treasure 11/20/2007

Thankfully...most great restaurants in the Pasadena area aren't in Old Town. Holly Street is one of those treasures. You don't have to fight with people in the multi-story parking lots to walk several blocks to a restaurant where you have to stand in line for the ""privilege"" of dining in the see-and-be-seen restaurants on Colorado Blvd. Holly Street is a special occasion restaurant for my husband and I. We usually dine early (too early for Jazz) to avoid crowds and enjoy the quiet dining. This is a great restaurant for us because the menu has many options, but is not so diverse as to be confusing. You're also not paying $15 for appetizers that barely fill a 4"" plate. Overall...the food is excellent, the staff professional and friendly. Sometimes parking can be scarce on the street...another reason why we don't dine here as often as I'd like. more

What a fabulous find! 9/18/2007

A friend took me there for the Jazz which was great. It was like going to a great old spot in San Francisco. Warm, comfortable-and that patio. Perfect for the most romantic evening. The food was amazing. Our waiter, Abel was outstanding. We went back for the Sunday brunch with the whole family including the kids. I was amazed at how gracious they were to even to our twins. We'll be back-can't recommend it more. Pros: Great atmosphere, romantic, good wine list, great jazz-outstanding food Cons: they ran out of menus on a busy Saturday night more

Quality without the price tag 1/31/2007

Holly is a great restaurant that I've visited many times through out the years. I've went to Holly everytime I was to have a nice meal without being charge an arm and a leg. The food portion is generous and the quality is superb. It's a perfect place for dinner with friends and family.\r \r To top it off, they usualy have a band performing. So you can just sit and enjoy the music after your meal. There's also a patio section so if you don't want the music, you still get to have a nice and quiet area to enjoy your meal. Pros: Ambience, Food, Value Cons: Parking more

best jazz restaurant in pasadena 6/10/2005

this is so far the best jazz restaurant in pasadena. the food was OK, but the music was great. if you like enjoying your dinner with the jazz noise in the background then this is your place. the bar is quite small, but they have a large outdoor patio in the back for your smoking / cigar habit. Go there when there's a good performance , check the calendar. more

Adorable place...great food! 12/15/2003

This is an adorable place in Pasadena!! It calls itself a bar and grill...but it's far from that. It's more of a restaurant. The decor is classy and the service is great. The food was fabulous. The bread served at the table before dinner was right out of the oven, warm, soft and delicious! Dishes I recommend: Potato gnocchi appetizer, fettuccini with tequila cream sauce, and filet mignon. The menu is eclectic so there is something for everyone. Desserts are out of this world! If you can't choose which one to order, you can order a sampler (make sure you are with 4 or more people). We ordered it...amazing. Warm berry bread pudding, vanilla creme brulee, gelato and tiramisu are really good. Overall, this was a great dining experience. Great place to take a date...it's romantic. Parking is across the street in a garage on Holly St. and they validate...convenient. Pros: Food, Parking, Ambience more
