This was an excellent hotel with easy transport to Washington. Metro is an easy walk from the hotel, there are restaurants within a short drive and the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms are basic but clean, quiet and affordable. I would stay there again. more

This Econo Lodge is in a great location for both the freeway and the metro. Our room was good (small bathroom, but otherwise quite nice) and the continental breakfast was good. The neighborhood feels safe, and there are several restaurants a 3-5 minute drive away. But most importantly, the front desk gives great customer service. We accidently booked the wrong hotel, so showed up here without a booking, but they generously gave us a great rate for the night. We would definitely stay here again. more

Nice hotel. Looks nice from outside as well as inside. Easy to find and few minutes drive from loads of eating places. Car park free and 5 mins to metro line into Washington. Metro only about $4 one way, cheaper than taking car and easier. Hotel happy for us to leave car and return evening even though did not stop second night. Reception small and helpful friendly staff with coffee. Room big with 2 beds, and small table and chair, very clean. Had flat screen TV. Free WIFI. Breakfast nice yoghurts, toast and muffins to eat in room. Very good value. Would stay again. more

Very clean, well maintained, everything looks nice and works well. Parking is free and there's a path to the East Falls Church Metro (7-8 min walk) that's fairly well lit and everything is in a neighborhood that feels safe. No micro in the roon but a larger hotel fridge and a diverse breakfast (nothing hot unless you heat up oatmeal). They've even got coin-op laundry. The only thing we ran into was the bathroom fan didn't do a great job, so we just cracked the door. Also, the sink is outside the toilet/shower, which is a bonus. Would definitely stay here again. I wish I could always find a budget hotel this nice--you never know what you'll get. more

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the DC area. The location was very close to the metro, within waking distance. The rooms were very clean, perhaps a little small, but clean and comfortable for the price. The front desk people were very nice and accommodating. We had never visited DC before and they explained how to best get around in a large city. Breakfast was continental style, not huge, but enough to get your day started. We enjoyed our stay. more

I recently returned for a second stay at the Econo Lodge Metro. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the property is clean, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again when in the Washington, DC area. Being close to the metro station is a huge plus, and we enjoyed the free parking, as well. Although we didn't have breakfast each day, we did see that there was a nice variety of items, and the coffee was hot and fresh each morning.\r This property is nicely kept, and a great hotel to stay at when visiting DC.\r Thank you for a great stay. more

We really enjoyed our stay here in spite of our worries about the small size of the room & hotel in general. That was more than compensated for by the convenient layout, the helpful staff, the good breakfast and , very importantly to us, the ease of getting to DC each day via the train. The station was a short walk way---about 7 minutes, and the trip to town was about 15 mins. Much better than driving in DC! The stay was quiet and relaxing, out of the hubbub of the city. I think what struck us as well was the immaculate cleanliness of the hotel and the obvious pride that the staff has in keeping it well-maintained. We will definitely use this as our go-to hotel for DC! more

Great value. Clean, quiet, and comfortable with an accommodating & friendly staff. They cheerfully made changes in our room, so we could be close to others in our party who had made plans separately. \r There was ample breakfast with something to please everyone.\r We actually did walk from the Metro - pulling our suitcases behind. \r The only drawback was that there was no elevator going to the second floor. \r Free WiFi worked great. more

Great value. Clean, close to metro, felt safe, Internet worked good and fast, great beds, and breakfast was good. I thought the staff was friendly and helpful. Will stay here again if I'm back in the area! more

Editorial review from Citysearch 11/14/2013

We were here the last week of August. Everything is sort of small, but we did not spend a lot of time in our room. It was nice and clean, had friendly staff, and a decent breakfast for being free. Free Wi-Fi. I thought the beds were a little soft. A tip, if you take the Metro from the airport with your luggage, take one of the cabs which are sitting there - it's only $5 for a ride to the hotel. Otherwise, it is an easy walk on a lit path. When you come out of the East Falls Church station (orange line), go to the right, keep going to the right, up the stairs, to the right, and you will see the path to the hotel. There is 7-11 across the Lee Highway overpass for snacks. There are stores and restaurants at the next Metro stop, Ballston MU. more

Stayed for three days during a business conference and found the hotel very pleasing. Everything worked just fine, quite comfortable, and the front desk lady, in particular, was very helpful for me with explaining and assisting me with using the Metro, which is a convenient walk nearby. The sink area was small and no coffee one morning, but it was a bit early....otherwise, I had a very enjoyable stay and I'd be very likely to return when the occasion arises! more
