I recently had to relaocate to the eureka,ca area and was stuck in a hotel for over a week looking for a new home. I ended up lodging at the econolodge in eureka downtown area. I must admit the overcast weather and constant fog gave me a bad taste of the place at first, but after checking in I went to the office to get some pointers about the area. The inkkeper Resham was overly friendly and even went to the point of logging himself online and printing out directions and a map via mapquest to assist my searches. The room was of average hotel room size, clean, neat, and had all of the ammenities one expects from a three + star hotel. They had in room coffee makers, and a free continental breakfast to boot. I was always received with a friendly gesture and a smile from any of the staff from innkeeper to maid service. I would definitly reccomend Econo Lodge to anyone staying in the eureka area. The added plus of this location is its proximity to downtown, and the fact that i could take a short stroll to the historic downtown area to eat at local restaurants, and do some shopping at the little downtown shops.
