My friend and I are currently living in the U.S. We both grew up training and competing with our own horses in Europe. We are expert riders and missed riding since coming to the U.S. Thought that we would give Echo Lake a try. As professionals, we were happy to find a really nice stable in the country with well cared for horses. A professional rider doesn't have to go fast with a horse and just enjoys the experience of riding itself. We had a lot of fun with our trail guide. We were american cowgirls for at least a little while!! We are definitely going back for the night ride and BBQ. can't wait! \r more

I have taken about a dozen riding lessons here, and plan to take many more. The instructor teaches you the proper way to brush and saddle your horse, as well as ride. So far this has been a great experience. I am definitely going to continue taking lessons and learn as much as possible. I hope to get good enough to buy my own horse from them and board it there. The stable is very clean and well maintained and all the horses and staff seem very comfortable and happy! more

i used to bring my daughter to echo lake stables for her birthday parties years ago and always had a good time. i used to ride but hadn't ridden in a long time. my daughter and i started taking lessons there in april and i cannot recommend this stable highly enough. everyone is really friendly and they take impeccable care of their horses. they have horses for every level of rider and will pair you up correctly. we've learned so much from their instructor and always have a great time every time we ride there and that has been every week for months now! more

Awesome! 8/19/2011

Even though my family and I are avid riders, we only have access to two horses at home and there were eight of us who wanted to ride together. The youngest was 7 and the oldest was 82. We went to Echo Lake and had a blast riding as a family! Our trailguide was named Val and she took great care of us, we were surprised at how well kept and trained the horses were. Better than our own at home! Val also took our camera and got some memorable photos of our group on the trail. Thanks Echo Lake and Val! We will return. :) more

What a great time! 7/31/2010

Thank you Echo Lake Stables!! My husband, two teenage sons, and myself attended last nights ride and bon-fire. We weren't sure what to expect, but every expectation was exceeded!! You can't beat it. For $60.00 you get one and a half horseback ride, followed by a wagon ride to a campfire complete with food, and a D.J. playing country music!! I had said to my husband, ""This would be perfect if they had dancing."" And they did!!! What fun!! We really enjoyed ourselves and will be back with friends!! In this day and age, it is wonderful to discover something to do that doesn't include a 2 drink minimum!! P.S. You can bring your own beer to the bon-fire!!!! MC - Mendham, NJ Pros: It's different, inexpensive, family friendly, fun!! Cons: Guides need to introduce themselves more

Trail Ride 4/10/2010

I've been riding horses since I'm a kid. The barn I used to ride at closed up years ago. I've been looking for another barn I could call home for years. I definitely found it here. The owners were great. The one in the cowboy hat had me laughing the whole time. The guide was worth her weight in gold. I hadn't realized how rusty I got and she was really helpful in riding tips. The trails were so pretty. Everything is starting to bloom now so you see a touch of green in every direction you look. When I got back to the barn I had to go back out for another hour. One just wasn't enough for me. The guide took me through another trail just as pretty as the first. Before I left I saw a stunning horse in a pen near the barn. I'm told he's for sale and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't thinking about it. I LOVED this place! Pros: Awesome staff, excellent horses, gorgeous trails Cons: Like potato chips - coudn't stop after 1 (hour) more

Great ride! 3/15/2010

I went riding with my husband and children. We had a great time. The trails were beautiful, the guides were so nice and the horses were great. The kids keep asking to go back on a daily basis. We will definitely be comming back soon. more

HORRIBLE....HORROR 10/3/2009

to make a very long story short, they put my small gf on a mean horse that did not want to ride the trails. He tried to throw her off, she has rope burn all over her hands from trying to controll the horse. The people were MISERABLE and not ONE introduced themselves. I Paid 120 for a 2 hr ride, and 20 min in, the horse was too much. we tried to go back, and stumbled upon a BEAR. The guide had no gun just incase needed, said NOTHING to ease us a we tried to keep the now CRAZY horses from throwing us off, TERRIFIED. They knew we were beginners and put her on that horse stil. I had to ASK the guide to help her. He was a prick, and the lady a C*NT. WE REALLY THOUGHT WE WERE GOING TO DIE. IM NOT KIDDING IN THE SLIGHTEST. please do not go here, your lives will be in danger, it is lucky we are alive. had the bear come any closer, the guide would have rode off and left us. that is no joke. the woman after we finallly arrived back made snide remarks, as I proceded to punch her in the face. well, I wanted to. words cannot describe the terror we felt., and I am from the country/woods!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pros: none. Cons: everything more
