What I consider Great Eating 5/15/2008

Being raised on a ranch, I just plain enjoy good smoked meat. I have eaten Barbecue for over 50 years, from coast and Eat at Joes serves some of the best I have ever eaten. It has a wonderful smoked taste, not covered up by sauce (You put on the amount of sauce you want to suit your taste). The meat is moist, not dried or charred, so they do not need to smoother their meats in sauce. I have my favorite on the menu and it has been consistently good from the first time I tried it when they first opened about two and a half years ago. I had my favorite tonight and it was still just as good as that first time. I am local, and I work hard for my money and when I spend it for food I expect to get what I pay for. Eat at Joes gets my business because they serve the real thing and generous portions for the price. And best of all you can have your meal with fresh ice tea, coffee, beer, wine or a cold pop. Finish off with tasty desserts if you have room after the meal. Hey did I mention the neat wooden tables and real cloth napkins...there ain't no franchised plastic booth scheme here. Try you favorite from the menu with the sides you want. It is all good. OK, I will tell you what keeps me coming back for more, for the past two and a half years. Just remember number 8 on the menu, but don't let me influence you. Order what pleases your taste buds, but I highly recommend the number 8, or just tell them you want Cowboys usual. So ride your horse, ride your scooter, drive your car, pick up or SUV, even your Big Rig or RV, there is a place and room to park them all. Bring your Laptop and check your email, it will work there, but hurry because your meal will be in front of you pretty fast. Just a great place and I can honestly say that, I have tried a lot of ""Barbecue"" joints, not all of them; but a lot of them, in my travels. Joes is probably the best smoked brisket I have ever eaten. You won't be disappointed it is worth coming back for, so I do. more
