My experience with Eastside Gastroenterology has not been that great. First, you can't call and reach a real person; I've tried calling over and over and get stuck in the worst phone tree, and then when you try to leave a message you're cut off. After trying 5 times, when I did leave a message, it wasn't returned for 30 hours, which was a huge issue because I had a procedure that caused me problems the day after but had no way to reach a nurse so I suffered for 2 days with no access to my physician or anyone in her office.
The physician I’ve seen is not a good listener; instead, she just gives me a boilerplate lecture on how my lifestyle is causing my issues, but the things she accuses me of are not relevant at all (I don’t smoke, nor drink alcohol or coffee or any caffeinated beverages, or eat fried food), so why the attitude and blaming the patient?
The front desk staff is also rude when you check-in and she’s not very quick and makes you stand there for 5-10 minutes while she does something else (e.g. photocopying, joking with colleagues, basically, anything but just asking for your name).
And the other thing they do is constantly tell you that you will be charged $200 if you cancel an appointment less than 50 hours beforehand. In my opinion, the message they're sending their patients is they care more about our payments and less about our health or providing compassionate care.
