Eastbank Hair

I've been a satified customer @ east bank hair for some time now. I love the quaint setting and great smell (they use AVEDA), not to mention the friendly staff and great hair cuts. Just recently they added facials, waxing and make-up. Since I was already there I decided to give the person a try. I had some waxing done and I am elated with the results! Angela is an absolute delight! She is incredibly meticulous with her work. Afterwards, she used cold stones! She sold me...I can't wait to get my facial next week! I recently visited eastbank hair to have my hair dyed. It was the worst color ever, it was waayyyyy too dark and it wasn't even remotly what i asked for. When the girl washed my hair out it took forever and i didn't feel clean at all, in fact when i got home i still had color in my hair and had to wash it out myself! I don't think i would ever go back there and i would really not recommend it to anyone. I only went there for the Aveda products, but it looks like i'll be looking for another Aveda salon. I love this place! The relaxing atmosphere makes it worth the while. So much to offer. Kimberly is by far one of THE best colorists I've ever been to! She is quick and efficient and brings ideas to the table. I have never been so happy with a cut and color as I have with East Bank Hair & I've never been dissapointed. Pros: Very skilled! more

I'm writing this review after two visits to this salon. Both times was I was VERY satisfied. First of all, the parking is easy - there's a lot next to the building. The entire staff is very friendly, the setting is intimate with a LOT of character, and you're made to feel comfortable immediately. They offered me tea while I wait - I was early. I even enjoyed using their restroom because it had beautiful-smelling Aveda hand soap and facial/body/hand lotion. All the smells of their organic products are absolutely wonderful. Very earthy and wholesome, yet sensual. Both times I had Laura as my stylist. She seems to have really great taste, and a very good sense for discerning each individual client's sense of style. I noticed that my hair looked nothing like anybody else's that I saw walking out of there. I decided to go back the second time because after my first haircut, my boyfriend thought it was the best haircut of my life, so he asked me to go back to the same stylist and ask for the exact same haircut. Of course guys talk like this, but what girl wants the exact same thing? So Laura wonderfully thought up a style that approximated the first one, but with a great modification for more fun - for me to notice and feel happy, and for boyfriend to think I got the same cut. EVERYBODY was happy. Laura also did a fantastic make-up job on me - very innovative, tasteful, classy, stylish, but not off-landish. I felt like I'd never looked better. I was treated like a queen! more

AFTER HEARING SOME BUZZ AROUND TOWN AND READING A COUPLE OF REVIEWS ON CITY SEARCH I DECIDED TO GIVE EASTBANK HAIR A TRY AND WAS I EVER SO PLEASED! JUST LIKE TO OTHER REVIEWS HAD MENTIONED, THE STAFF GOES COMPLETELY OVER BOARD TO MAKE YOU FEEL COMFY. MY APPOINTMENT WAS WITH A NEW STYLIST ~ KIMBERLY ~ WHO I FOUND VERY ENGAGING NOT TO MENTION KNOWLEDGABLE (she is a former salon educator). OK, ENOUGH ABOUT THAT....LET ME GET TO THE BEST PART -- I HAVE FINE, DIFFICULT HAIR & HAVE NEVER RECEIVED A BETTER CUT!! I WAS EVEN ABLE TO WAKE UP AND WEAR ME NEW STYLE A SECOND DAY WITHOUT EVEN WASHING IT AND IT STILL LOOKED FABULOUS. \r \r I TOTALLY LOVE MY NEW CUT & MY NEW STYLIST!\r \r (PS ~ I FORGOT TO MENTION WHAT A GREAT SHAMPOO I RECEIVED....THE MOST RELAXING EVER!) more

East Bank Hair is definitely one of Baltimore's great finds. The atmosphere is so relaxing and peaceful inside the shop. There is not the ""typical"" hair salon feel. From the pleasant aromas throughout the shop, to the calming music playing in the background, East Bank Hair knows how to create the ideal retreat. Everything is intimate. Upon entering the shop, you are greeted with a smile and then offered hot green tea. It only gets better from this point. The complimentary scalp massage given during the shampoo is a heavenly delight. Most importantly, the hairstylists really understand their clients needs and expectations. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for more than just another hair salon. more

Karen Spence, a stylist at East Bank, did my hair for my wedding. She helped create a beautiful hairstyle with me beforehand and then recreated it to perfection on the Big Day. I got a lot of compliments on my hair because Karen had helped me think through what would look best for me. Not only did she do a beautiful job, she was also an absolute pleasure to have by my side. She was calm and attentive...and created exactly the look I wanted. You would be LUCKY to have Karen for your wedding day or any important event!! more
