East Lake is a private club, but if you have the opportunity to tee it up there, you need to immediately clear your calendar.
Playing East Lake is sort of like going back in time. There are no carts or even cart paths... it's caddies-only. Which, if you've never played golf with a caddy, you'll find to be the only way you want to play golf from here on out. They're usually a college student or neighborhood kid, and they help you with everything from yardage, to reading putts, to giving historical tidbits about the place. Which there happens to be a lot of, since it was the first golf club in GA and home to the great Bobby Jones.
Getting to stroll outside, w/out constantly being in a cart or lugging your bag around is already awesome. Match that with an old 1900's era English tudor clubhouse, unmatched beauty and perfectly manicured fairways and greens, and you instantly have the best golf experience in Atlanta.
