I had to make a last minute appt. and Aveda accommodated me very nicely. Great salon - good talent and excellent service. Very friendly.

Worst

Back east, AVEDA stood for a certain standard of skill and service, but the Earth Salon & Spa in Carlsbad has not achieved it. The massage I had, though discounted, was amateurish...

I have been going to Earth Salon for yrs and see Megan, I can only speak from my experience with her but she is fabulous. My 1st experience of her was on christmas eve, i had a late appointment, while she was drying my hair(i have long thick hair) she decided she was not happy with the rinse and took me back to the sink to start again. To do this on christmas eve with a client you have never met before blew me away, i have stayed with her ever since. She is a star, meticulous in her approach and looks after her clients. Perhaps Sergio needs to pay attention to his peers. But give Megan a chance because she is very very good. more

I love all the Aveda aromas used in the spa. I had a wonderful facial and massage. I will be going back soon. more

I love my hair!! 2/24/2007

I got my color done with Emily and I loved it. I wanted to do something different. She had lots of ideas and told me what would work for my needs. I have been to this salon again since and Emily was busy so I saw someone else and she was great too. I have not done any spa services at Earth but the prices are lower than some of the other spas in the area. more

Great skin, massage 10/31/2006

Just as I find someone there I like, it seems that they leave. However, the next person that I deal with almost always is as good or better. They make me feel like a special guest and I have never (in maybe 6 or 7 trips) walked out of there with any complaints. IT IS EXPENSIVE, but I consider it peace of mind that no one is going to mess up, or give me anything else but great service and care. more

Aveda salon, recommended for color 8/15/2005

I went to Ann there who gave my hair a dark even permanent color and I really liked what she did. I think the Aveda colors are a little more gentle than others and I think the color is lasting well. I don't care too much for Aveda products in general. The fragrances are just too strong, even the scents that I really like. Cons: Expensive. The stylists here didn't seem consistent. While I really like Ann, I watched someone else get their hair butchered and burned (by a stylist who looked very inexperienced) in a seat across the room. But a big thumbs up to Ann for her coloring job and her personality. UPDATE: Ann is now at Lemongrass Salon in Encinitas--took me a while to find her again! more
