So I've had a few car stereo installs done with this store and must say the quality of the install is good, which is most of what folks pay for. But it was somewhat of a painful experience in that the manager would not give much of any sort of a discount and seemed to care more about the price than anything else really. I always feel nickel and dimed at this specific store with their manager. I remember an install that ended up with some sort of popping noise that they quickly suggested I buy something else to fix without taking the time to figure out if it was an install issue. This was probably due to the fact that they don't charge for more labor from what they quote if it take a little longer...so I'm sure they didn't want to spend anymore time digging around to see what the problem was.
In addition, I've worked with other car audio locations that unfortunately closed because they were smaller shop and the recession did them in but they were extremely eager in satisfying the customer. Earmark in Addison is not bad but it would be better if they had a different manager as I have even heard his own employees complaining about him. Overall, good install, crappy manager. Also, they only carry Focals, JLs and Boston speakers. Don't bother asking them about Audison, Hertz, Morels, Rainbows..etc because again, their manager doesn't keep up with the industry...proof is in the circa 1980s/'90s photos of their installs and competition.
I'm trying a new shop up in McKinney(SoundScape)that sells other brands and in the short time talking car audio, their enthusiasm and knowledge of current industry trends is refreshing. Also, they factor in sound tuning as part of the price and not another ancillary cost that you have to pay for. They apparently use an RTA for tuning so I'm excited to see how it goes.
