Early Childhood Prep School

We reported to the staff that another kid was calling him names, causing him to scream every morning when we would take him in. The staff did NOTHING. I suspect other things were going on because he suddently started throwing the biggest fit about going to that school when he had never done that before.\r \r We witnessed the bullying and asked the other child to please stop, she complied no big deal. The director, sent home a nasty letter scolding us ---a very nasty exchanged followed over the next few days. When we called to ask them why they were being so hatefull to us they told us that we were ""kicked out"" and had to pick up our son in the next half hour. Yes, 30 minutes notice that we no longer had day care.\r \r If you are a working mom and need a day care that's reliable and doesn't go on a big power trip I would NOT recommend this place. Elizabeth Sparks takes her ""power"" trips at your expense. \r \r They also made my 3 year old son sit in the office holding all of his belongings until we were able to pick him up. He was immediatly walked out of his class and was not given the opportunity to say good bye. Yeah...he's now 6 and we are still explaining to him why he couldn't say good bye to his friends.\r \r We went to Teddy Bear Academy and I can not say enough good things about that school. Sweetest people you could ever meet, and they understand how children behave, when to intervene, when not to intervene. After our son was there for 2 weeks he begged us to take him on Saturdays. He loved it. We left the school only because our son went to kindergarten...if it were up to him he would still be there. more

Clearly there have been bad reviews written about this place that have been removed. There are ""glowing"" reviews in response to some apparent negative ones. This catches much more of my attention than the good things that were said. Why aren't ALL the reviews out here? It sounds like someone had a terrible experience (a child being locked in a bathroom), and people bash the concerned parent by calling her a ""Christian liar"" and that it's her own child's fault for misbehaving. My children misbehave daily....it's what children do. I've never locked them in a bathroom to correct the problem. Since the negative posts have all been removed, I don't know the full story, though. Bummer. more

I had similiar expirence with Mrs. & Mr. Sparks. They hide behind the Christian faith, but do not act like Christians at all. I am so glad I pulled my daughter before and took her across the street to the Goddard School. That place is what it says it is. I hope people read this and see once and for all who the Sparks are. Just check them out on MO Case Net. You will see for yourself! Keep it in the public!!!!! Perhaps the news should get involved if there are enough of us...... more

Yes,I agree with u There were several reviews on ecps and how untrust worthy they are on different websites they hide behind the christian faith. All of a sudden they disappeared,someone copied them before they WENT AWAY- all the reviews are now reposted on another site. They had the same experience some were questioning their large amount of lawsuites (mocasenet) and others not happy with the care, some stories were shocking.Apperantly she thinks contracts don more

THEY DID DELETE THIS ONCE. I AM REPOSTING: After making an agreement with Elizabeth Sparks, the owner. She broke it. I changed my daughter from full time to part time. I asked Elizabeth to redo the contract I had signed. At the time I believed I could trust her and her saying you have my word was enough. I was then handed a handwritten invoice, which I still have, for over $600. She was still going by orginal contract even though my daughters time there had changed AND she told me not to worry, she would never be dishonest. She had charged me for full time even though my daughter wasn't going there but three times/wk for three hrs/day. When I questioned it, I was told ""it's in the contract"" I was shocked at the response. I pulled my daughter from the school because she still would not redo the contract. I paid the $600 hand written invoice down to $124 (in three months), making payments every month, never a set amount, but always something but I guess it wasn't quick enough. She turned me over to collection agency without any written notice and after I had made a payment the prior month. I couldn't believe it. I paid 95% of a bill I didn't agree on and she did this. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE! They are not Christian as they say. I have proof of everything and have filed it in small claims. I also heard she writes her own 6 star reviews. BEWARE!!!!!!! She will scam you too. more

My child started going to ECPS last year, and I have been very happy. She absolutely loves it. And I have had no complaints or concerns. You are always greeted with smiles, and all teachers and assistants are constantly saying good morning and good night to me and my daughter. It has been a wonderful experience. Pros: WONDERFUL staff, my daughter is very happy there. Cons: Price more

I have personally seen this school and am impressed with how they bring the Lord into your family and your child. We had stopped attending church regularly until our child kept asking to go to church. She had been bringing things home and we kept ignoring until one day she said she wanted to go spend the night with one of her classmates. As she is kind of young (4) we thought this was odd until we were told by her that she could go to church with the friends family the next morning. That go us thinking and we w have been going back as a family to church ever since. Thank you ECPS!! Pros: Christian, smiles, owners are great, staff is great!!!!!! more

My wife and I have toured many of the schools in our area and have always prided ourselves on being discerning as well as educated when it comes to our children. This school is beyond compare. The way you are greeted at the front door, to the way staff and teachers greet you and your child with a smile. The decorations are cute and whimsical. My son especially liked the castle in the front play area. The other thing that caught our attention is the curriculum and how much the children are being taught. From an early age the children learn the basics and then are built upon each successive year until they go to Kindergarten. My son started as a 2 yr old and is now in 1st grade. We have had many glowing reports from his school teachers about his handwriting and just how much he knows. The last thing I wish to bring up is the fact that this is a Christian School. Pros: The staff and owners Cons: I wish they had an even larger place so more could be enriched more

In the past 10 years, I have had three children go through this fabulous preschool. Two of them are in elementary school. My youngest child is still at ECPS! ECPS celebrated 16 years this past summer. We feel honored to be a part of their history and success. Our children are greeted with warm hugs each day. As a teacher myself, I appreciate all of the staff. All of my children have had Ms. Judy. She has been the fabulous original Pre-K teacher at ECPS. What a blessing for our family.........You see the same staff each day. The staff seems like a family and we love seeing that they stay for a long time. Pros: Thank You to All the Teachers!!! more
