Best

I just up the game of golf and one of the first courses I played at was Dyker Beach. Good course bad score.

Waste of your Money!!! 7/23/2006

This has to be the worst golf course in the city. There is way to many people playing at one time. The pace of play was horrible. It took 4 1/2 hours to play nine holes. They don't have a marshall so nobody can speed up play. We were rushed through each whole only to wait 20 minutes to tee off at the next hole. The people who cannot shot also have no golf etiquette. I was hi t into 3 times and parties of 5 or 6 wouldn't let you play through. At 8 when I finished the first nine holes I asked for credit to play the other nine holes at a later date and was denied. It is definately not worth the money or the time you waste watching bad golfers rip apart an otherwise nice course. I am a lower handicap golfer and I shot the worst round of golf I have in two years. DO NOT PLAY THIS COURSE UNLESS YOU WAN'T TO BE FRUSTRATED ALL DAY!!!!!! Pros: easy to get to. Cons: ever thing that is bad about golf happens at this place. more

Like 7 hour rounds? This is for you!! 7/30/2005

Want to play with the worst golfers in NYC? Love slow, slow rounds? Then this is the course for you. Probably the busiest course around and surely only because it's location. I've never played here without confronting a pileup of two or more groups on the 3rd tee, 4th tee and then just a snails pace from then on. Too many horrible golfers driving their little carts around and having no idea how to play the game or anything about golf etiquette. Steer clear! Pros: 17th hole Cons: Too crowded, Awful golfers, No marshals more

Never again..... 11/14/2002

This course is one of the worst I have played in the area. For the most part, I did not have a good lie during my entire round, and that includes several shots from the middle of the fairway! And by round, I am not referring to 18 holes, I am talking about the 10 wholes I was able to play, despite arriving at noon for a 1207 start! The value at this course was horrible. $50 to play a [theoretical] 7 hr round with no rangers in site is unacceptable! However, the guy working the [poor excuse for a] proshop gave us a credit for the back 9. I spent the money there because there is no way that I am ever going back to dyker beach. I understand that NYC is big and that people have to learn how to play golf, but this place was too much! more

Come early on the weekdays 8/22/2002

While I agree with the facts that others have stated such as slow players and the time you are set up to tee is going to bumped back to later, this is a pretty decent course for one in brooklyn. I had played both here and Marine park(although it was a long time ago since I played Marine and I heard they improved)and this is definatly the better of the two). I did find, however, that if one can come on the weekdays and early that you can play much faster with little wait time for first tee off. more

Beautiful and Frienly for me. 6/16/2002

Clearly the person who wrote the ""Soprano's Wanabe"" review was not there last Saturday when I played the course. Dyker is one of the best public courses in New York City and very popular because of location (heavy residential) and it is a pretty course. At high points the Varazano looms close. Hole 12, a dogleg left is my favorite. The clubhouse is large and friendly. As were the rangers and the other golfers Pros: Upkeep, Scenic, Not too Difficult Cons: Parking, Access to Clubhouse more

  • Located just south of Bensonhurst is this beautiful slice of Brooklyn. But the only part of Dyker Beach that is beach-like are the sand traps.

On the back nine, one cannot help but feel the...
