Best

I'm sure Duo does not need another great review. It's still the best and most innovative in the city. Pros: Food wine ambiance

Worst

They still looking for an identity. French, American, Italian, Argentinian ????? Pros: -------- Cons: --------

Duo is now out of business. Too bad because the ownership was welcoming with good but expensive food. Went by today to check out the new ownership. VERY COLD to Non-SPANISH clientele. 1/13/2008

Duo is now out of business. Too bad because the ownership was welcoming with good but expensive food. Went by today to check out the new ownership. VERY COLD to Non-SPANISH clientele. Forget about having a good time because they want to turn me away in favor of spanish speakers, eg. menu mostly in Spanish. This is a branch of the Lincoln Road establishment that welcomes everyone. What the heck is happinging ot Brickell. more

TRULY CREATIVE TASTY FOOD 4/7/2007

I took my mom there for lunch. The menu was super and the service was perfect. The lunch prices were totally reasonable AND a mind-altering delicious dessert was included! The portions were just perfect. I needed a special place to take my mother and this was just spectacular. Besides amazing wines at very fair prices. I really can't say enough kind words about the service and cuisine. more

We had our company party at Duo. We were very pleased with the party. The food was excellent, the wine selection outstanding and the service was terrific and accommodating. The staff could not have been nicer. Many of our guests commented on how much they loved the food and the restaurant generally. Pros: Food, wine and service more

Fantastic Restaurant 3/14/2007

My boyfriend and I went here for the first time on Saturday night and loved it! When you hear of a place with so much hype you think that there is no way the restaurant can live up to it. I loved this restaurant. I was so excited to try Duo's food and this DID NOT disappoint. The atmosphere is nice and the place itself is beautiful. The wine list is massive, but our attentive, friendly waiter helped us pick a fabulous zin. My boyfriend had the short ribs and was amazed! Would totally recommend. Great food, great service, great date night. Pros: Short ribs, appetizers at the bar, wines more

Great food, great wine, great place! 3/12/2007

I've been here many times now even though I live in Orlando. I had some friends coming in from Chicago last month, and wanted to take them to a good ""Miami Restaurant"". The restaurant looks modern, bright and spacious. Service is professional. Everything we ordered, from the fresh soup, to the salads, to the fish - was superb. The chefs clearly take a page from the legendary Chez Panisse, using fresh, local ingredients in their preparation that make the dishes really stand out. The deserts are great! A good choice for either romantic or large groups. Pros: Food and wine more

The best and most dependable restaurant in Miami 10/5/2006

This restaurant, soooo lived up to everything I read on the internet. Lovely décor, ambiance was wonderful. Nice details and the bar and the drinks are an awesome end to the day. We now eat at Duo twice a week, since the food is so good. Be sure to ask the sommelier Charlie for wine recommendations though since the list grows weekly! Pros: Best food in Miami, great wine list more

Unmatched restaurant in Miami 9/14/2006

Simply put, fantastic. My wife and I went here for my 40th birthday, and we were simply blown away by the décor, quality, service, wine list, basically everything. We started with the shrimp, which impressed with freshness and flavor. I second the reviews of the foie gras --- which was simply fabulous. My wife started with the green lip mussels, and that was similarly exquisite. The Duck Duo was delicious, while the Lamb Duo was just right. We had Chablis premier cru by the glass to begin and then a spectacular 2004 Loring (Santa Rita Hills) Pinot Noir. The latter was a little too chilly due to being cellared, but later opened up nicely. The sommelier Christian provided a decanter for attaining full bloom, a great touch. Pros: Best in Miami awesome wine list reasonable prices more

Miami favorite 8/31/2006

If you have a special date, this is the place to bring her/or him. Visited Duo on several occasions. I continue to return, so they must be doing something right! Some items I'd highly recommend are the tuna tartare, the lamb duo (one of the best lamb dishes I've ever had), and the desserts! My fav was the rhubarb tart with blackberry ice cream, the dessert was heavenly and brought back wonderful memories growing up in the Midwest, where rhubarb is in abundance during the summer. Can't wait to go back, again! Pros: The food, the bread, the waitstaff Cons: I wish it weren't so far -- but that's my only complaint! more

Gourmet pasta and seafood 8/21/2006

One of the best in South Florida, and getting better every time. The service is corteus and professional. Elegant and chic environment to enjoy the best pastas and seafood that Miami can offer. We love the fish en croute, so unique!. Thank you and we'll be back. Pros: pasta fish seafood more

A Miami restaurant must-visit 8/20/2006

It's hard to strike a balance between stiff formality and the relaxation of homey comfort. Duo pulls it off seemingly without effort -- an amount of thought goes into their dining experience that would earn someone a doctoral degree in any other field. We were seated immediately and the service was quick and attentive. Everyone from hostess to busboy was very well educated. The ingredients were amazingly fresh, and the attention that went into their preparation, from the humble to the exotic, seemed clear, starting with the fennel soup; The rest of the meal maintained the clarity of that high note. When we were done, there was space in front the bar where we could continue conversations and sample their Scotch. Quite a memorable evening. Well definitely be going back. Pros: Brilliant food, Educated staff more
