I hold DD responsible for my donut addiction (now controlled) that I developed 30 years ago while working construction in Boston. Every morning at 9:30, the coffee truck would arrive stocked with boxes of Dunkin Donuts, and on cold mornings, what could be better than hot coffee and a coupl'a sinkahs? Nothing, that's what! Even when I went back to teaching, my morning routine continued until, at long last, I was able to break the habit. I lived near Quincy, MA while in high school and going to DD was de rigeur in those days, even infrequently, but that was long before donuts became my daily habit sixteen years later. Oh, the shame of it. Still, DD was far, far better than those horrid Krispy Kreme ""Killers"" until DD stopped making their donuts on-site, sadly. Snobs will extoll the virtues of that national coffee purveyor of the bitter stuff (from Seattle), but DD's coffee is more blue-collar, more egalitarian, more drinkable, and less expensive. Gotta love that!
