This is a great place to relax and get away from the bustle of downtown DC. It is a formal garden, and therefore more manicured and structured than the National Arboretum, but it has some cool areas like a rock garden, an arbor, a swimming pool (though I'm not sure if that's allowed anymore!) and some wonderful places to wander, sit and relax. It isn't really the sort of place to thrown down a blanket and nap. Spring is the best; cherry-blossom time is especially good
