Dulcinea

This is an expensive women’s clothing store located on South Dubuque. If you are lucky you can find a parking meter to plug and walk to this store. This is not the type of store that a student would be shopping at (or should be shopping at) due to the high prices. It is nice to look around at the beautiful pieces of clothing though. more

Now, I usually don't indulge myself in high end clothing stores, however as iIwas enjoying a quiet summer afternoon a couple of weeks ago in downtown Iowa City, I decided to check out all the stores I had not yet experienced. Dulcinea on South Dubuque Street, is a kind of boutique type stores that I have visited in larger cities such as Chicago and New York, however this one is located right in the heart of Iowa City, a short walk actually from campus. At Dulcinea's there is a small sampling of high end clothing...blouses, skirts, dresses, and beautiful accessories. However despite the high quality of clothing, the price is a bit over the top for something as simple as a basic black dress. Check this store out though....you may be one of the lucky few to find a real bargain in the smaller sizes. But for me, it just wasn't practical.....but then again, that's just one opinion of many in Iowa City! more
