Awesome trip via Yankee Freedom II 5/12/2006

The trip to the Dry Tortugas was the highlight of my vacation. Crystal blue waters, white beaches, access to living coral and extraordinary sealife. During my snorkel adventrure, I saw many species of fish, an eagle ray, beautiful coral, dolphins and even a baracuda and shark- not to worry. Both were harmless. This was the first time I was snorkeling, and I can't imaging it being better. The Yankee Freedom II staff was extraordinary was well. Definate must! (remeber- no running water on island). Pros: great snorkeling, great tour, amazing wildlife Cons: not 4 children, expensive more

Awesome views - seaplane is way to go 8/3/2005

In-laws live in the keys. Have been many times but first time to Dry Tortugas. We are going back and staying the whole day. The seaplane is the way to go. If you take the first plane you are the only ones there and there is tons to do. Bird watching, touring the fort, walking the grounds and snorkling. Wish we had our own boat and could scuba dive the area must be beautiful diving. If you can't do the plane take a boat but go because it is something to see. Clean, natural and quiet. more

Best fishing spot in the world 7/21/2004

It seems that my secret fishing spot will now be known to the rest of the world. Took the three day fishing charter out of Key West. This trip is for serious fisherman only, we caught fish 24 hours a day. We caught every type of fish imagineable, from snapper to tuna. Completely filled a thirty gallon ice chest with fish filets, this fishing trip was the most memorable experience of my lifetime. I guess the secret is out. more

Take a sea plane 7/14/2004

I took the sea plane from Key West airport to the Dry Tortugas. The view of marine life and ship wrecks was awesome. The park has reefs a few yards from the beach that are great for snorkeling. The fort is an interesting Civil War relic that is work the trip alond. I highly recommend a trip to the Dry Tortugas National Park. Pros: Flying is faster more

Great trip! 9/4/2003

We took the catamaran ""Yankee Freedom II"" out of Key West for about a 2 hour trip to the Dry Tortugas. Enjoyed the trip, the par and reef was gorgeous and Fort Jefferson was something. Recommend this trip to anyone who enjoys the outdoors, gorgeous waters and sealife. I would also recommend the Yankee Freedom II for the smooth trip and great staff. Pros: not crowded Cons: no restroom on island more

This is a very historical place. It is neat you take about a 2 hour boat ride out there and spend the afternoon looking around, sunbathing, snorkling. It is a pretty place. more
