I know Chinese cusine...... 4/16/2007

As a former NYPD officer working out of the 5th precinct, located in Chinatown, for over 10 years, I've had my share of Chinese cuisine. I must say the Dragon Palace is a must go to restaurant for not only tourist's but the local's as well. As a large varied ethnic group, we sampled almost everything on the menu without disappointment. That speaks a lot to the crowd I was with! Also, the dining area was spacious, bright and the fish tanks added a cozy atmosphere. The service was friendly and professional. I have and will continue to recommend the Dragon Palace to all my friends and family. Pros: Quality & quantity of food, service, spacious Cons: off the beatten path more

Best Chinese food anywhere 4/4/2007

A friend told me about this restaurant a while ago and I?ve been returning ever since. It seems they really take pride in offering fine tasting Cantonese food. Their menu is large and offers some very exotic dishes, which are very reasonably priced. They also have a wide variety of dim sum. I?ve tried many dishes, but I like the seafood the best. The staff is friendly and can assist you in ordering the perfect combination of dishes for your table. They have two floors and some private rooms for large groups. When I first went there it was with a large group and it was no problem not having reservations. They happily greeted us and gave us our own room upstairs! The decoration inside is amazing. They have a large aquarium full of colorful fish and a small pond where you can watch large Koi fish swim around. They also have some faux trees inside! It all comes together to make a visit here a wonderful time! This is a must-visit restaurant!!! Highly recommended! Pros: Tasty food; ambience. Cons: None. more

dim sum restaurant of choice 3/26/2007

I was particularly surprised by how friendly and responsive the service was considering its large size. I didn't initially realize it was so close to the only Starbucks in chinatown when I was to join some friends for a dim sum. I really liked the high variety and availability of their dim sum dishes and really one of the better ones I've been to in chinatown. I'm glad my friend recommended it to me and I thought I'd share it with others who might not otherwise find themselves on Centre St. Pros: service, food, variety and location more

Just What We Have Been Looking For! 3/26/2007

My husband and I travelled to China about two years ago. Since then, we have been on a search to get the same delicious food we ate there over here. Well, our search is over. This place is it!! After trying so many different restaurants, we finally came across Dragon Palace where we get the same fresh, flavorful food that we so dearly remember. Not only is the food out of this world but even the service and decore take us back. We eat here about once a month and have never been disappointed with any of our dish choices or the quality of service that we have come to expect and appreciate. If you want the real deal, Dragon Palace should be your destination. We promise that once eat here, you will be hooked!! Pros: Food, Ambience, Service more

Best Cantonese Restuarant in NYC's Chinatown! 3/20/2007

If you are looking for consistently great Cantonese cuisine, you should not miss Dragon Palace. I've been to this place maybe 5 times, and not once has any dishes been a disappointment. The menu is pretty extensive, with something basically for everyone, whether you are partial to certain meats, seafood, or a vegetarian. Dragon Palace is also exceptional for its dim sum. You rarely find a big restaurant that gets everything right for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food is always fresh and served hot. The service is friendly and helpful in suggesting dishes that you may not be familiar with. Dragon Palace is a fairly big restaurant, with two levels big enough for large banquets, and accomodates the bustling atmosphere of the dim sum crowd every weekend. For a place this big, it is extremely clean, which is not something I can say for most restaurants in Chinatown. So if you are hungry and craving good food, don't miss out on this place! You will not be disappointed. Pros: Bright, clean atmosphere more

Great authentic Chinese food! 3/17/2007

Well I've been to this restaurant multiple times, bringing along friends from out of town, work and my local crowd. The reaction is always overwhelming the same, delicious Cantonese fare! If you're looking for consistently great Chinese food, this is the place to go. The decor is wonderful and stands out in a host of restaurants in Chinatown that are lacking any. There is a huge aquarium full of ""parakeet fish"" who will follow you in hopes of you feeding them. In addition, there's also a beautiful koi pond full of koi fish who will jump at the chance of being fed some treats. Pros: Delicious, authentic Chinese food at great prices, beautiful decor, wonderful Chinatown experience Cons: None I can think of! more
