I am a New York State licensed clinical psychologist with specialized doctoral and postdoctoral training to evaluate and treat both adults and children from preschoolers to teens. Comprehensive training combined with many years of professional experience has provided me with the skills to help patients find relief from feelings of anxiety and sadness and to attain more fulfillment in their relationships, school, and their careers. People reach out to me when they feel deadlocked in their lives or are deeply concerned about their children. I am continually inspired by seeing the dramatic changes that they make in their lives.
Clients seek help with feelings of self-consciousness, emptiness, or to control distressing behaviors. Others consult me in order to be better equipped to navigate divorce, illness, or loss; and to manage difficult life transitions such as a move, new parenthood, marriage, empty nesting and retirement, adjustment of college or the workplace. Parents consult me about children with challenging temperament, learning, and peer difficulties.
I have years of experience working in an active and supportive manner to help adults and children explore and change self-defeating behavior patterns, gain confidence, and achieve more satisfying relationships.
I utilize an eclectic style of treatment, drawing on various aspects of interpersonal, cognitive-behavioral, developmental and family systems theories to design an approach to treatment that works best for each individual or family and their particular concerns.
I earned a doctorate in clinical psychology from an APA accredited program at Einstein-The Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. This program spanned five years of coursework which focused on the evaluation and treatment of children and adults.
At Einstein, I conducted doctoral level research on eating disorders, parent-child relationships, and children's adjustment to divorce and school difficulties.
I bring extensive experience in diverse clinical settings with both children and adults, including the Bronx VA Hospital, Lenox Hill Hospital and St. Lukes- Roosevelt hospital. Prior to opening my private practice in Larchmont, I worked for ten years at the Soifer Center for Learning and Child Development where I evaluated and treated children with learning disabilities and supervised doctoral level psychologists. In addition to my private practice, I am currently an adjunct clinical professor at Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology.
While I majored in psychology at Tufts University, prior to pursuing psychology as a career, I was a consultant at Booz Allen and Hamilton and specializing in marketing. I also worked as a career counselor and earned a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology at Temple University prior to earning my doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
