Best Chiropractor in the city! 8/13/2006

Dr. Cristello is absolutely amazing! I always do my due diligence and went to 4 highly reputable chiropractors in the city for consultations before I found Dr. Cristello! Not only is he extremely knowledgeable, skilled, and effective but he's extremely kind, patient, honest, professional, and a great conversationalist. \r \r My favorite things about him is that he genuinely cares for and values his patients, takes the extra effort to go above and beyond what's expected, and treats everyone with the utmost respect! When I went to the other chiropractors for consultations a lot of them said I had a lot of different things wrong with my alignment and drew up ridiculously expensive payment plan proposals. Dr. Cristello was completely honest and upfront with me and informed me that the only thing I needed to focus on was my neck and quoted me a payment plan that was half as expensive. (I didn't even tell him about my other consultations.)\r \r You will not find a greater value for chiropractic care in the city. Thanks again Dr. Cristello!! Pros: Flexible, Knowledgeable, Skilled more

Tobi Wright Licensed Massage Therapist 2/6/2005

As a Licensed Massage Therpist, I understand the necessity of chiropractic care for certain pathologies. I also know that chiropractors have a bad rap because many bad ones exist. Dr. Cristello's care is unmatched. He doesn't crack for the sake of cracking, nor does he insist that you make an unrealistic number of appointment, rather he recommends a treatment schedule. His work is gentle, considered, professional and specific. He is also a former massage therapist which is reflected in his work and bedside manner. He has saved my back and neck on numerous occassions. Pros: many more

great chiropractor 2/2/2005

Dr. Cristello is not just my chiropractor he is my primary care physician. In other words it is not just about being adjusted but about my whole self, my well being. In fact he refers to his practice as a wellness care center. I step into his office after a day of racing through the city, battling my way through the crowds, putting everyone elses needs before my own. I step out of his office not just feeling better, but with a better perspective on my health and therefore my life. After all in todays world it is hard enough to get an appointment with a doctor let alone someone who will actualy take the time to explain things to you. I feel lucky to have such a talented and dedicated doctor on myside and I'm sure you will too. Pros: effective, thorough, good location more

HR Executive 2/2/2005

Dr. Cristello has a natural holistic approach to healthcare. Besides providing the usual adjustments one expects from a chiropractor, he regularly informs his patients about recent studies related to a variety of issues releated to well being. He has shown me a number of exercises and stretches to strengthen and loosen my back, shoulders, abs and neck and has recommended supplements to further inhance my health and well being. He is happy to refer other qualified practioners (e.g. massage therapists, accupunturist, etc.) to augment the care you receive from him. more

Best chiropractor in NYC 2/1/2005

At first I was unsure if I would feel comfortable going to a chiropractor. The thought scared me. A friend of mine recommended Dr. Cristello, and right away I felt that I was in the right place. His beside manner is excellent! He takes his time with you and explains everything. When he adjusts you, he does it with care. I always feel like a new person when I leave his office. I stand with ease and no pain. Then life takes over again and I am right back at Dr. Cristello's office. Pros: gentle, remarkable, caring Cons: spoil, his, patients more

A Clinician you can trust 2/1/2005

Dr Cristello takes time to make a thorough assessment, and a complete review of systems. He is up to date on the latest treatment modalities and information which he integrates into his diagnosis and treatment. And most important, he makes me laugh! more

Gentle, Effective Chiropractor 1/31/2005

Dr. Cristello is one of the best chiropractors I have seen since I was five years old when I began taking chiropractic treatments. He is caring, explains everything clearly and his technique is gentle and effective. He is not the type of chiropractor that tries to ""hard sell"" you packages of treamtents or makes you come in a million times a week. Rather, he explains a treatment plan and follows it. You can tell he loves his career and is concerned about safe and effective patient care. Pros: Takes Insurance, Good Location, No long waiting more

  • My name is Dr. Thomas Cristello, I am a New York City Chiropractor and I have been practicing in Manhattan since April, 2001. My health training started in 1979 when I began my undergraduate studies at the State University of New York at Stony Brook as a Psychology major. Upon graduation, I shifted gears and pursued a very rewarding career as a Pre-school Teacher for about 10 years. Then in 1991 I went back to the health professions. Rather than to continue the study of the mind, I decided to examine the body. It was then that I started my studies at The Swedish Institute of Massage Therapy in Manhattan to become a Massage Therapist. Upon graduation I began a successful 10-year career as a Massage Therapist both as an employee at several spas/gyms, and as a sole proprietor of my own practice. My hands-on career taught me a great deal about the body. My clients greatly benefited from the work I did. However, there were still many who only had limited success with the soft tissue work. I often found myself referring clients to Chiropractors. This limit to what I was able to do furthered my interest in continuing my education. My previous experience as a Chiropractic patient and my experiences as a Massage Therapist propelled me onward. I then began the exhaustive training required to become a Chiropractor. I had to take a full 2 1/2 years of pre-requisites (on top of my Bachelors degree) in order to qualify for a Chiropractic school admission. Then it was 4 more years of intensive studies, coupled with an internship, and finally graduating with honors (Summa Cum Laude) in March 2001, just a few months before my 40th birthday. Upon graduation from Life Chiropractic College West, in Hayward California, I returned to New York, where I worked as an Associate Doctor, improving my skills. Then, on September 30, 2002, my 41st birthday, I opened my own Chiropractic Practice in Manhattan. It has been one of the most rewarding accomplishments of my life! I look forward to serving the community for a very long time, and delivering the highest quality healthcare that I am able
