Dr. Steven A. Burres FAACS

I was referred to Dr Burres while working towards a treatment or solution for my sleep apnea. The tacky infomercial style ads for his cosmetic surgery running on flat screens in his waiting room made me uneasy...but I dismissed it as simply poor taste. I was brought into the examination room and the Dr came in... after about 4 mins of questions and a brief look into my mouth he proclaimed ""you definitely need the surgery"". I was surprised that he could come to that conclusion so quickly. Bear in mind this is a pretty serious procedure that would involve cutting and moving my jaw with a side effect of changing the appearance of my face. Not the kind of thing I take lightly...it was troubling that he seemed to. He also said ""we will have to send you to get a sleep study just as a formality for the insurance company...but I have my own sleep study clinic I'll send you to in Lancaster"". He wanted me to travel a hour and a half so I could go to his sleep study clinic...I assume so he could either make more money or to make sure that whatever info made it to the insurance company supported the procedure he recommended after his 4 minute examination. After I left there I did some research and found that the surgery he was so certain I needed is only effective 8-15% of the time. I sought another opinion and found a far more effective non surgery treatment. I really got the feeling he was more interested in billing then in making sure his patients get the right treatment. I can't help but to question his motivations. more

Dr. Steven Burres is the best doctor I could have chosen. After searching hundreds of websites and looking at before and after pictures I was confused. I checked to see who was ""Board Certified"", and which doctors had pending law suits against them. My search lead me to Dr. Steven Burres in Beverly Hills, CA. Not only is he triple certified but the results I saw were amazing. A friend of mine had Dr. Burres repair her nose after a terrible accident and I could not believe how great it looked...much better than before. Thank you Dr. Burres for my beautiful nose. No one would ever know that I had work done. I can breathe out both of my nostrils and the huge bump is gone. Bless you and I hope you stay in practice for many, many years. When I have enough money and the time is right, you will be the doctor who I will come to for my face lift. Pros: You would never know I had a nose job. more

Please do not go there the doctor is dirty. He dose not wash his hands in between patients. He leaves the patient in the room and goes out of the OR to talk on the phone. My friend ended up with life threatening infection. So many horror stories i have heard from other people. Please please just avoid this place if you want to stay alive. I had a mini lift done to my face. Dr. Burres was my doctor. The scars around my hairline are extremely noticable and ugly! I have tried to have them lazered, tatoo'ed, everything!! Nothing hides the fact that I had surgery and a very poor facelift! I am embarrased and I try to hide my scars daily with make up and I style my hair to hide them. Windy days are a nightmare, because my scars are easily exposed with one gust of wind. I cannot even put my hair behind my ears or where a pony tail! Someone suggested hir plugs to cover my scars?? Sounds expensive! Cons: Ugly scars for the rest of my life! more
