I was ""scammed"" into going to see Dr. Rudick by the amazing (obviously fake) Google reviews and Citysearch reviews. I URGE YOU TO READ THE TRUE YELP REVIEWS BEFORE MAKING A DECISION. Here is my story:\r
\r
I called up and asked: ""Do you take Metlife?"". The receptionist checked for a minute and said: ""Sure we do!"" So I came.\r
\r
I showed up the first day because of two cavities. I was there for 2.5 hours and NO THEY FILLED NOTHING. They performed 1.5 hours of cleaning followed by 1 hour of x-rays, trying to get me to spend $95 on an electric toothbrush (no joke), and them terrifying me that I had ""bacteria pockets"" in my right gum and I absolutely needed injections before it got any worse. They gave me two and then told me unfortunately that is not covered by insurance. Yes it cost me $100. I spoke to a local dentist right after and oh boy was he mad.\r
\r
I left with them making me an appointment for my cavities two weeks later.\r
\r
I showed up two weeks later (today) and guess what? To the x-ray room! ""But you just took my x-rays 2 weeks ago?!"". ""No that was different. We need to take them AGAIN."" (No doubt to bill insurance double).\r
\r
After the new set of x-rays the doctor delivered the awful news. ""ALL of your old fillings are rotting and must be replaced immediately before it gets any worse. Also, since you have a $1000 limit on your insurance you will need to pay 60% for each tooth. We will fill four today for $400 out of pocket."" She then proceeded to smash the right side of my gums with the blunt end of an instrument. ""Does this hurt?"" ""No"" I said, ""only my left side hurt"". She kept banging harder and harder until I said ""Well, yeah now it hurts a bit!"" She replied ""Oh goodness we need to bring in our specialist. You will likely need to pay $1000 per tooth on the right side out of pocket for root canals"". ROOT CANALS? I only feel pain on my left side!\r
\r
I told them I needed to think it over (which they strongly urged against) and left. I went immediately home and phoned my insurance company. Guess what? They are NOT on my plan. Seriously?? Liars, cheats, scammers, money-hungry people who call themselves dentists.\r
\r
I found a much better local dentist on my plan and called them back to email me my x-rays since my insurance would not pay for a new set of x-rays since they already paid (only a bit since out of network) for x-rays to Rudick. They said ""$35 to email you your x-rays"". I said ""I paid you TWICE to take x-rays! Why are you charging me again??"". They referred to it as processing fees. (Email , Attach file , send = $35??)\r
\r
STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS. \r
\r
Oh and one more thing. Read these other reviews. How much detail is in them? None. You know why? Because the receptionists are getting paid to write them. God I hate businesses like this!
