We found Dr. Stubbs to be extremely affordable. We have been going to him for almost 2 years now. At that time, no down payment was required...we had to pay for the x-rays up front which was between $200-$300. After that, he only required $139 a month. The techs in the back are very nice and explain everything to you. So far I have been very pleased with my son's progress concerning his teeth.
On the down side, he needs to get rid of his front office staff. From day one, they have been rude and could care less about you. For the money you spend there, they should be bending over backwards for you. On our last visit (02-10-10), they have a new policy...they no longer accept checks as a form of payment. This annoyed me since it is very convenient for me to just drop a check in the mail. They will take cash or credit/debit cards. Plus I noticed some tension in the treatment area. Dr. Stubbs wife is now the office manager, which could explain the tension...plus they are remodeling the office I was told.
I have to say I was disappointed in the no checks policy.
His office staff is the worst I have ever encountered.
Overall, if you can get past the crappy service up front, I would recommend him, only because he is affordable. However, since his wife is now in charge, this could have all changed, so be sure to check on that. They may now required a deposit...who knows...but he is a good orthodontist and I would recommend him.
*Just a side note to all of this...I just tried to call the office and speak to the office manager regarding the rudeness of the front desk. She would not speak to me unless I identified myself....pretty shameful if you ask me..
Pros: Very affordable
Cons: Office staff is rude..could care less about clients.
