When I got pregnant with my first baby, I had to find an OB (my regular GYN was only GYN). I called a bunch of different ones and chose Dr. Gardner because she was the only one that would get me in immediately - all the others wanted me to wait a month. She spent a whole hour with me for my first appt, going over EVERYTHING. I liked her right from the start. She is very professional and really knows her stuff. I had a few complications during birth and she was great. She came by twice while I was in labor and then there was a lot of chaos in my room when it was time to push. When Dr. Gardner got there, she immediately took control in a very calm manner, which helped put me at ease. She did a great job getting my son and I through a difficult birth and I will always be thankful for that. I just went to see her last week and was DEVASTATED to find out she is no longer delivering babies - especially since we intend to get pregnant soon. I came home and cried. I can't imagine having a different doctor. I have never had a doctor that I trust so much and feel so comfortable with - I feel like I can talk to her about anything. I can understand how some people think she comes across rude, but she just tells it like it is - straight up, no BS. I like that, I guess. The exam may be a bit painful, but I have never known it to be a pleasant procedure and she does a very thorough job. I feel like she really has the best interest of my overall health at heart. Even though I won't get to have her as my OB anymore, I absolutely plan to keep her as my GYN. (I am secretly hoping she will change her mind and start delivering again)!
