Jeffrey J. Kovacic, M.D. is an orthopaedic surgeon who is fellowship trained in orthopaedic sports medicine. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, he earned a bachelor of science degree from The Ohio State University graduating summa cum laude. He earned his medical degree from the Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio. From there he returned to Cleveland to serve an internship and residency in orthopaedic surgery at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He stayed at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation for an additional year of fellowship in orthopaedic sports medicine and surgery. During his 6 years as a physician at the Cleveland Clinic, he was involved in the care of athletes in all disciplines of sports at all levels. He was a team physician for Baldwin-Wallace College, two local high schools, and served as a physician for the Gravity Games for two years. During his fellowship, he served as an assistant team physician for the Cleveland Browns, Cavaliers, and Indians.
In 2005 he and his wife, Andrea, relocated to Georgia. He practiced orthopedics in Johns Creek, GA for 5 years before joining Emory Adventist Hospital in 2010.
Dr. Kovacic specializes in orthopaedic sports medicine but his practice interests encompasses all aspects of musculoskeletal care including joint pain, deformity, injuries, arthritis, and fractures in patients of all ages. He has particular interest in pediatric injuries as well as issues unique to athletes.. Orthopedic doctors specialize in diagnosis and treatment of problems of the musculoskeletal system.
