Dr. Jawed Ehsan MD

I met him when I got meningitis in the hospital. He treated me for it. I got better and kept me alive even after my critical condition. I'm still alive! Thank you Dr. Ehsan!! more

II wanted to write you a letter concerning Dr. Jawed Ehsan. Please take a moment and read my story, for if it wasn't for Dr. Ehsan, I can't say whether or not I would be here or not. Back In 1998, I started having liver enzyme elevation. In 1999, I was diagnosed with Acute Intermittent Porphyria, by Dr. C while I resided in Marengo, IL. I was poked and drugged up to treat the "symptoms" (because that's basically all you can do with porphyria) and spent days, sometimes weeks in the hospital, or at home with home health. I was only 29 and wanted to LIVE my life. Life went on, I moved to Woodstock, IL. Dr. C only did what he thought he was suppose to do, and when I was well, my quality of life was there, just not for very long periods between "attacks." Until one day (in 2005, I believe) when I was out at my best friends house for the weekend, when I started with the nausea, vomiting, and upper right quadrant pain. My friend's husband had enough of me just being medicated, and either kept, or sent home to return to the hospital again. He believed in Sherman Hospital and their staff. Well, that is how I met Dr. Ehsan. That is when my whole life changed. I was admitted into the hospital that day. (Dr. C was getting ready to retire, you see, and I was extremely scared of going to another doctor.) Fate had other things in mind for me. Dr. Ehsan was so unbelievably compassionate and understanding. He did tests, explained what they were for, and explained again what the results meant. he took a lot of the meds that I was on, away. I started feeling better almost immediately. I have many, many allergies, and he takes the time to talk to me about what he does give me. I am probably in the hospital 1/16 of what I use to be. My diagnosis is not Porphyria. I have Hep C. When I am in the hospital, Dr. Ehsan is the same Dr. he is in the office. Kind, and compasionated. He really tries to figure things out; he goes the extra mile. I moved here from Woodstock to be closer to Dr. Ehsan, and the hospital. I have a LIFE now. I can pl more

I wanted to let you know that you really encouraged me so much that day you offered me a place to work if I went to school. I actually went to ECC that day and took an English/Reading test and passed withan 80% to get into the Phlebotomy class but I was put on a wait list. more

Thank you so much for your kindness and consideration to my daughter Angelica Nancy. She is doing very well this week and back dancing in Geneva FL on Wednesdays. more

He was assigned to my grandmother's case after she received immediate care in your emergency room. His enthusiam and confidence in her ability to regain skills she thought were lost to her forever not only saved her life but is giving her an entire new lease on life. Dr. Ehsan is a man of few words but his ability to charmingly communicate with my grandmother has made the key difference in her astounding recovery, physically as well as attitudinally. She'd been so adamant in her desire to remain independent and 'not a burden' to us the past few years so she consistently resisted all of our efforts to help her. She distrusted doctors, insisted on living alone in Wisconsin, and kept her hidden medical conditions to herself. Dr. Ehsan's efforts returned her to her family who loves her dearly and wants nothing more than to help her help herself. She likes him so much she calls him Dr. Twinkles, and now we all do, too, much to his embarrassment! We are delighted and relieved he's agreed to remain her primary care physician after she is discharged. Dr. Ehsan makes himself immediately available to provide my family with updates on her condition. Also to his credit he answers telephone calls promptly and takes action on recommendations promised without need for repeated reminders from us, follow-up that is almost unheard of in today's busy world regardless of profession. more

Dr Ehsan is highly professional. He is available 24/7 on cell phone. He truely cares for his patients, I will recommend him without reservation. more
