Dr. Dose, DVM

Although I do not own a furry pet I have helped my Mom and another friend with their cats. My Mom had a $500+ estimate from another local vet for dental tx for her cat . A quick phone call to her old vet in Las Vegas led us to Doctors Dose and Dose. The same service was under $200 and you simply can not beat the level of care offered by these two. My friend has found excellent care for her cat as well. Both Drs. are extremely patient and caring. You just can't beat the service and attention to detail you receive from these two vets. C. J. New to Reno from Kauai, Hi. Needed a vet for , some Extractions and Dental Cleaning, etc. Our new neighbors gave us the best recommendation for a caring , gentle, reasonable fee , but un-reasonably great caring Veterinarian Doctors. These two are incredible when it comes o the correct way to take care of one's beloved pets. Our thanks to Pam, our new neighbor , for telling us about these Vets. I wish they could take care of our Boxer, but I know they will recommend someone who is just as caring when we ask for a recommendation for the larger dog. Dr. Smith DDS more

Highly reccommend this vet duo if you like superior care, knowledgable caring and understanding vets that provided the best services in town. I honestly love that they answer their own phones and are willing to answer questions over the phone without the underlying "im too busy" tone. Appointments are easy to set up and you never feel pressure to buy any products that you see some vets pushing. Good hearted vets, with a love for what they do and amazingly fair prices. I would pay much much more just to care for my loved pets. I thank them for all that they do for my animals and all they do for our community. more

I must say Dr Dose and Dr Dose are the best vets that I have ever taken my pets to. They are honest, to the point, and they are not after your entire bank account. I would and have recommended them to anyone with small pets. more

Good: I love the caring, knowledgeable, attributes of both docs, they are God sent when it comes to the care of small animals! And, the price is right.. Other: When I first met Dr Dose about a month ago, my cat had been sick w/dental problems and needed to have a lot of teeth extracted. I had been given estimates of $700, $1,600. I can't afford that and it was completely out of line. Dr Dose took care of my cat and the surgery and meds were $230!!!! They do have a low overhead and don't try and gouge. I have a chihuahua mix that I got from the pound about 2 1/2 years ago. He has had a lot of health problems. Now it was his teeth. I took him in to my vet and the estimate was 800 dollars to start and then the cost of extractions.I called and called vets around town to see if I could get the cost down. No one would help me out.I live on SS so its hard.I love my boy, he is so sweet and I knew he had to have this done. And then my prayers where answered in Dr. Dose and his lovely wife. The two kindest, most helpful and gentle vets you will ever meet. We met with the mister first and he was gentle and took lots of time explaining things to us. I called two more times to discuss the process and again, Dr. Dose was kind and no questions seem silly to him. Yesterday my boy had his teeth cleaned and extractions done by Dr. Sharon Dose. She was so good and so gentle and my boy is doing wonderful. And the bill was affordable to my budget. Good service, kindness, gentle people who took wonderful care of my baby. My chihuahua, my Jake. The husband and wife team of Dr. Dose & Dr. Dose are unargueably the best and by far the cheapest vets in Reno. Unlike other vets in town that treat you like cattle, the Dose's are very personal and extremely intelligent. The down side is that they won't see any animal over 30lbs :( We were sad when our French Bull Dogs went over that weight limit, but the Dose's even then would still call to remind us that they needed to go elsewhere for their vaccinations. I can't stress enough how great they are. more

Dr. Dose and his wife have a veterinarian clinic in Reno. I highly recommend the mister while I have reservation about the missus. He has a very pleasant demeanor and obviously loves pets. Anyone who can clean "that gland" without gloves on must be a pet lover! He is easy to talk to and answers even the most absurd questions as though it is quite a smart one. Gotta love a man that doesn't dumb you down. He is VERY, did you hear that, VERY reasonably priced. He is cheaper than any other vet I've been to in the Reno/Sparks area. So, not only do you get your pet taken care of on the cheap, but you also get comic relief. Go and see him and you'll see what I mean. more
