When you walk into Doyle's, realize you're stepping into a place that's been frequented by pretty much every Irish politician Boston has had for the last several decades. After you consider that, get a burger or a club sandwich or a meatloaf plate or a buffalo wings (not "wing dings," those are gross), or New England boiled dinner. Stick to the basics, they're the best here. Get a pint from the extensive beer selection or even a scotch from the multi-page scotch list (ask a waitress). Then settle in and people watch. The brunch is great too, although it's gotten just a tiny bit priceier and schmancier in the last couple of years. The fruit pancakes are still among the best anywhere, and some of the waitresses have been here since you started elementary school. Weekends you can get a free shuttle from here to the Sam Adams Brewery for a tour - pick up a flyer at the door.
