Best

The Guinness was the best I have ever had in the States. If my eyes were closed I would swear I was in Ireland. The most perfect pour and the best tasting. Glad to see you all ...

Worst

I went to Doyle's because they have a deal that if you go after you tour the Sam Adams Brewery you can get a free glass when you order a beer. The beer and the glass were great...

"Doyle's, for me, is more about the atmosphere (which is great) than the food (which is average). It's a haunt for local politicians and city employees, so expect large groups during election seasons! The pizza is your best bet." more

Doyle's offers comfort alongside food and drinks 5/17/2006

I'm a little embarassed to admit that I first came to Doyle's because it was featured regularly on the old television show Boston Public. But once I got there, I didn't care what had brought me in, because I was glad that I'd found such a warm, homey place serving great food and drinks. Local brews are available on tap, and the seafood casserole and sweet potato fries are both outstanding. This place just makes you want to curl up in a booth with a few friends and drink the night away. more

This Pub is an Institution 5/13/2006

When you walk into Doyle's, realize you're stepping into a place that's been frequented by pretty much every Irish politician Boston has had for the last several decades. After you consider that, get a burger or a club sandwich or a meatloaf plate or a buffalo wings (not "wing dings," those are gross), or New England boiled dinner. Stick to the basics, they're the best here. Get a pint from the extensive beer selection or even a scotch from the multi-page scotch list (ask a waitress). Then settle in and people watch. The brunch is great too, although it's gotten just a tiny bit priceier and schmancier in the last couple of years. The fruit pancakes are still among the best anywhere, and some of the waitresses have been here since you started elementary school. Weekends you can get a free shuttle from here to the Sam Adams Brewery for a tour - pick up a flyer at the door. more
