My pets are also patients at the DGAH and have all recieved the Leptosporosis vaccine. The doctors also gave me a "leptosporosis alert" brochure...and any person with half a brain would have picked up on the fact that its was a warning on the DISEASE lepto. not the vaccine. This is serious condition that any dog in the state of Illinois is at a high risk for and they can pass it on to people(which will cause kidney failure in humans FYI) The entire staff at this hospital is truly dedicated to the best ineterest of our beloved pets..When i walk through their doors...myself and my animals are immediatley recognized and greeted...and typically the girls know exactly what we need that day. All in all a fabulous place to bring our furry family! more

As long as you only need shots...maybe 2/24/2007

We moved into this area in 2002 and started using this vet. There are a number of different vets. The first problem was when I had my GWP bitch spayed--she developed seizures less than a month after the surgery and I was told that it had nothing to do with any of the meds(too bad for them the internet had been invented and I had a very well informed agility trainer). But this was one of the side effects of the medication so I took the blame as my own. Then this same bitch gets very ill in 2005--has to be put on IV and the vet that is treating her this time keeps her overnight, saying someone is with her at all times. Not only is that not true, but I also find out that they were force feeding her with a syringe! I could've kept her at home and hand fed her. In fact the other vet we took her to did just that. more

Are you a person or a number 7/6/2006

about 6 years ago you could call them for an emergency and they would handle it, now they send you to the emergency clinic. Also after some of the Vets had moved on you got the impression you were a number not a client. If you are looking for more than just being hustled in and out go somewhere else. I did. more

Good vet and boarding 8/23/2005

Downers Grove Animal Hospital has great veternarians to take care of your pets (dogs, cats, and birds). They also have a groomer there and you can leave your dog there for half a day to get their haircut. Their boarding is satisfactory and the price is pretty good for the area (we spent $22 a day for a small dog). more
