ok, i am a total skeptic. Someone once razored my hair...while it was dry. Needless to say, I was very nervous coming to the Doves, but it turned out i was in great hands. The location is gorgeous and the staff is warm and friendly-there is absolutely no celebrity culture-which, if you are an LA native, you know that tends to be typical (like that horrible show BlowOut). Everything is a la carte, which is awesome. I had my hair cut by the Doves, who are the owners and Creative Designers. I had it colored by another designer and someone else blew it out. And i have been back several times with different people, without feeling like I am cheating on my stylist, while keeping the price tag very affordable. The Doves have created an atmosphere that is very familial, which allows for a wonderful experience. And here is a novel idea, they actually listened to what I had to say and considered what I wanted while offering suggestions. I even let them cut my hair into a cute shoulder bob (long in the front, shorter in the back) although i had not had hair above my bra strap since I was 10 years old...and I absolutely love it. The cherry on top? The coffee is excellent (they make espressos, cappucinos, hot tea) and there are complementary Doves chocolates...I think I have found my hair heaven.
