Called this guy up and told him my house had been hit by lightning and I had 5 tv's that needed to be looked at and my insurance adjuster needed a report that included the problems found and the repair or replacement costs. He said he could do this and had done this many times.\r
\r
Guy showed up and started taking the back covers off the tv's one at a time. He got into one tv and there was a small plastic plug with about 10 or 15 wires burnt really bad and said that was the problem. Looked at another tv just like it and it was totally dead. \r
\r
He went on to the next tv and found an electronic board in there with a few capacitors that were swollen up and he said that that was the problem with that tv.\r
So at one point he said that the tv with the capacitors swollen up could be fixed by replacing that bad board for $80. So I asked him if that will fix it for sure. He said he didn't know, that it was impossible to tell without replacing the board and going from there. I told him that my insurance adjuster needed a final repair cost or a replacement cost. But he kept on saying that he didn't know whether or not that replacing that board would fix it completely. I then said that a new tv like it at a large club retailer was $498 and that he needed to either show that a definite fix was possible with a certain cost or recommend that it needs to be replaced, especially since he couldn't say that replacing one thing in the tv would definitely fix it.\r
\r
So he ended up refusing to give a final repair cost or report that lightning had hit the tv's or a surge even. So I said then what caused all this damage then? No real answer was given. I said to him then that I asked if you could come look at my tv's after the lightening hit my house and make the report for my adjuster telling the problem, repair cost or replacement cost and you said you'd done it many times before. So what's the problem? No real answer. \r
\r
I stopped him at this point and asked him how much was the bill so far. He grumbled ""$60"", and said he didn't want me to jump on him about the situation, meaning give him grief about it. I said if I was jumping on you you'd be laying there bleeding already. I asked him how much I owed him for what he had done up to that point, I gave him his money and told him to get the ""F"" out of my house and slammed the door behind him.\r
\r
I put a review about this guy on one of the subscription review sites, you know, So and So List, and now he is claiming that I wanted him to say that they did not work because lightning stuck them and file a false insurance claim, and that I would shoot him if he didn’t do this. \r
\r
In emails to me, he says he is going to let everyone know I threatened to shoot him because he would not file a false insurance claim. He says he's called metro police and is filing a police report on the matter because of me threatening him and slandering his name.\r
\r
So why if I did what he said I did, talk about pulling out a gun and shooting him, did I pay him his $60 bucks for the 3 tv's he looked at instead of just throwing him out without paying at all? \r
\r
Welllllll........I'm still waiting on the police to show up. What he didn't know was that my wife was sitting around the corner in the kitchen the whole time listening to the whole thing. This is what kind of honest businessman he is and you'll have to deal with if you call him up to work on your stuff. I don’t recommend anyone doing business with this guy. He basically said he knew how and what to do in this case just to get paid and make a buck and in reality, had no clue how to make a report for a claims adjuster. And in the end, to save face, calls me a liar and wants to call the police and try to get me arrested. \r
