Great stay for families!! 9/7/2010

My sons and I enjoyed a delightful stay at the Doubletree - Times Square. The rooms were spacious and clean, with ample towels, pillows, TV's, and toiletries. A broken door knob was repaired minutes after it was reported. The staff was courteous and helpful, in every respect. Highly recommend, particularly for families!! more

Good hotel in Times Square 4/27/2010

Stayed at the Doubletree during our trip to New York. Loved the location and the size was perfect for a family of 4. We have school-aged kids, so the room/mini-suite worked well for us. It was nice because there is also a sink and refrigerator. The boys loved the chocolate chip cookies in the lobby and the location can't be beat! more

Great Place for Family Stay 7/15/2009

July 8 – July 13, 2009 we had a wonderful experience at this location. The staff was great! On our first night, there was a problem with the TV. We called maintenance and they came right away and replaced our TV with a new one. When the TV went out it left a smell, dying TV smell. We asked if it was possible to change rooms. They sprayed this room and we could have stayed but they had a bellman there in less than 10 minutes to move us to another room. They were very professional, kind and accommodating - no questions asked. The staff is to be commended. Throughout our stay the restaurant staff beginning with the hostess, waiters and food prep staff went out of their way to make each meal pleasant. We had breakfast there every morning. My son looked forward to going; it was a very warm and inviting atmosphere - that says a lot coming from an eleven year old. The food was great as well. Housekeeping did an outstanding job. Our room was cleaned expertly every day. We requested extra towels and they were left daily without an additional request. The room was spotless upon our return. The bellmen were very helpful and were always asking ways to assist the guest. The concierge ladies did their job. They however did not exhibit the same warmth as the other hotel staff. There was a gentleman there on Saturday who was very helpful and greeted and assisted us with the same kindness as the other staff. The ladies did their job and were efficient, but were not helpful. They answered your questions with yes, no and I don't know responses. They also had nothing available from the hotel highlighting daily events in the city as most hotels offer. I had already mapped out most of our trip so it was not a problem, but I guess I was looking for the inside scoop from someone who lived in the city and who had experience directing guest to less advertised places. Overall we would rate our stay as the best hotel experience to date. We travel frequently and have stayed in many grand and great hotels, but the service and staff at this location are superior. Thanks for making our vacation memorable. Pros: Staff is Great Cons: Concierge could be more helpful more

convenient 7/11/2009

The Doubletree on Broadway is right on Times Square. The street traffic noise was our only complaint. The hotel is very convenient to the theater district. Very small rooms, typical of NYC. more

Horrible 5/31/2008

Never again. Check-in was a nightmare. We were told we would have to wait until 4;30 for the room that was assigned to us (check-in is supposed to be at 3)--unless we agreed to take a different (code for ""less desirable"") room. Room itself was filthy. There were black hairs on the white sheets and on the bathroom floor. Also the bathroom did not have a fan so the entire suite smelled damp and musty. Not recommended. more

Location is excellent 3/11/2008

The location of the hotel is excellent! I thought the decor and room was\r a little shotty for the cost and the service was ok. No one offered to help\r us in to the building with our bags at the curb. \r The front desk staff is wonderful! Overall, if you can stay somewhere \r else a little more upscale for the same price...go there. However,\r the location is phenomenal. more

Great View! 7/18/2006

Stayed in a Times Square view room on the 35th floor. Wonderful view of Times Square! Lots of space. Definately would stay again. Much better then the rooms at the more expensive Marriott Marquis and better views as well. more

THE place to stay when visiting New York City 11/7/2005

Extremely convient, safe- even at night, and you're within walking distance of everything. They told me at the front desk that they just remodeled and it shows! Beautiful rooms and tons of space. I love love the beds- so fluffy and comfortable. Pros: perfect location, walk to everything, great rooms Cons: nothing- I'll be back more

Really friendly staff 7/28/2005

Double tree guest suites is not known by most tourist as the it place to stay while spending some time in the big apple, but it should be. This hotel, though not very well known really wants to get your attention. The staff here is very friendly and accommodating. more

Wonderful Getaway in NYC 7/10/2005

This is a wonderful NYC hotel - even for NY'ers. When you need to get away and just relax, this hotel is very luxurious. We stayed in a two room suite purchased very reasonablly through www.hotwire.com. PROS: wonderful suites CONS: pricey unless you get a special deal more

Great hotel! 7/6/2005

Loved my stay at this hotel. Beds are wonderful and the suites are great way to make you feel like home even when you are travelling. The concierge was great too! Pros: Beds, Concierge, Location more

First visit to NY 6/13/2005

Our first vistit to NYC, was great. Saw "The Lion King". It was a really great show. This hotel is spacious. Very clean and friendly staff. Elevators were quick. Security is good on the first floor. You must show your key even to enter the building. Concierge was a little stuck-up. Breakfast buffet is over-priced@17.50. Order a-la-carte. Got a rate of 249 a night, but cost 299 after taxes and fees. Beware of taxi drivers in unmarked Lincoln town cars. Got ripped off one time. Paid $40 for a fare from Penn staion that should have only cost $7. Doubletree is in a great location. Nearby restaurants include, McDonalds, Bubba Gump Shirmp, TGI Fridays, Appleby's. I'm already making plans to stay here again next year. All in all, it was a great trip. Street vendors are willing to bargin. Got a yankees baseball cap for $5. McDonalds value meals are $5. Planet Hollywood was a little pricey. Toys are us is a must see if you have children. Took the Grayline tour. It was well worth the money. Get more

Very clean and comfortable 4/7/2005

Very clean and comfortable hotel in the heart of Times Square. Justin in the lounge was the antithesis of the cold-rude New Yorker. He was totally welcoming and hospitable. He's one of their biggest assets. What a nice person to make a tourist feel at home. I wholheartedly recommend this hotel. Pros: Cleanliness, Location, Newness Cons: Price more

BEST PLACE TO STAY 5/27/2004

AMAZING location right on Times Square. The view from our room was right out of a postcard. I've stayed in other areas, and Times Square is the best. Everything is within walkable distance and there are great restaurants nearby. The Doubletree completely exceeded my expectations. Beautiful rooms, phenomenonal service; all at a great price. Pros: PERFECT location, large rooms, great service more

Great Location! 9/13/2003

Can't beat the location! Wonderful for walking to all of the theaters. Two room suite. Nice to have the sofa and chairs to relax on after a long day of sightseeing. Got the 2 room suite for the same price as one room at the Marriott across the street. The elevators are fast and never had a wait. Friendly staff and concierge. Definitely would stay there again. Pros: value for price suite, fast elevators, friendly staff more

Family Friendly 7/22/2003

I had a conference and brought my family. There are two rooms in every suite, so it was perfect for us. There is a ""kids club"" and play area open until 10:00 PM--perfect for the young! Service is excellent and accomodating. The price is also very competitive. Also great views of Times Square--request a view. Pros: Room size, Kids Activities more

Great Space, Nice Staff 10/7/2002

We had so much fun right in Times Square, the rooms were big and quiet! believe it or not. The staff gave us lots of great tips and suggestions and we were close to the shows, Chelsea, Madison Ave. - all within walking distance! more
