Housekeeping barges in at 9am and no appoligies 5/3/2009

We were startled by a knock on the door then seconds later someone barging into our room while we were still in bed, we screamed and they retreated. Called desk to report, they said it was probably housekeeping and they would check in it. We received no return call, so after having a romantic moment so rudely interrupted and frankly being a bit concerned about who was coming into our room, called desk back about 40 minutes later. I was again told it was probably housekeeping, like that was normal and it should be no big deal housekeeping was just barging into the room three hours before check out time. After complaining extensively, we were offered $15.00 dollars off the nights stay. Went to desk to check out and to further express my displeasure and lack of satisfaction with the discount and was rudely brushed off by desk clerk who acted like I was crazy to be upset about this. Asked him if this was standard policy, and he said yes, housekeeping has to see if they can start cleaning up rooms, so they check to see if you're out yet!!! Apparently by just letting themselves in!!! What if we'd been in the shower, instead of in bed? This desk clerk?s attitude toward us was unbelievable, and when I insisted on talking to the manager, her's wasn't much better. Said $15 off was best she could do and she basically backed up the amazingly rude and totally unapologetic desk clerk and repeated the housekeeping needs to start cleaning rooms and has no other way to figure out what rooms to start with excuse. I've never experienced this kind of invasion or such a caviler attitude before at any other hotel. Cons: Total lack of respect for privacy and no remorse more

A good deal for the price 7/30/2007

This is a nice hotel for the price. We got 3 nights for just over $300. Room service was somewhat lacking however, we came back to our room smelling of bathroom cleaner and it didn't look like they had vacuumed. Also, we ordered room service for breakfast and the food came cold; however, the staff was nice enough to deduct 50% from the bill for that. The doors in the hotel seemed like thunder and our room was right next to the pool so we could hear the loud kids.\r \r That's all the bad. The bed was nice and comfortable and the split room setup was very nice. The refrigerator and microwave both worked wonderfully and the shower was clean, hot, and had plenty of water pressure. The front desk helped us out when I forgot deodorant and when our keys de-programmed themselves. There were two computers in the lobby for general use and we were able to get on them when we wanted with no problem.\r \r There were a lot of restaurants nearby and the Dayton Mall was just across the street. Overall I would definitely stay here again, I would just avoid the room service. I am happy of the deal I got here. Pros: Room setup, front desk staff, free high-speed in room Cons: Room Service, housekeeping didn't vaccumm more
