We were startled by a knock on the door then seconds later someone barging into our room while we were still in bed, we screamed and they retreated. Called desk to report, they said it was probably housekeeping and they would check in it. We received no return call, so after having a romantic moment so rudely interrupted and frankly being a bit concerned about who was coming into our room, called desk back about 40 minutes later. I was again told it was probably housekeeping, like that was normal and it should be no big deal housekeeping was just barging into the room three hours before check out time. After complaining extensively, we were offered $15.00 dollars off the nights stay. Went to desk to check out and to further express my displeasure and lack of satisfaction with the discount and was rudely brushed off by desk clerk who acted like I was crazy to be upset about this. Asked him if this was standard policy, and he said yes, housekeeping has to see if they can start cleaning up rooms, so they check to see if you're out yet!!! Apparently by just letting themselves in!!! What if we'd been in the shower, instead of in bed? This desk clerk?s attitude toward us was unbelievable, and when I insisted on talking to the manager, her's wasn't much better. Said $15 off was best she could do and she basically backed up the amazingly rude and totally unapologetic desk clerk and repeated the housekeeping needs to start cleaning rooms and has no other way to figure out what rooms to start with excuse. I've never experienced this kind of invasion or such a caviler attitude before at any other hotel.
Cons: Total lack of respect for privacy and no remorse
