Despite all the negative reviews I read on TripAdvisor, I had a great stay at the Midland- Hilton. The staff is outstanding!! They were extremely responsive to my needs. They went out of their way to check on me and answer my questions. The two bars in the hotel were great! The Mahogany is probably the best bar in downtown Midland. Previous reviews were correct about downtown Midland being ghost town at night (and during the day it seemed to me). I had to drive a few miles for alternate dining options but that was okay to me. Plus I got a great corporate rate!! I will definately stay here again. more

I live in Midland. My husband was having a poker party, and I was tired so I checked into the Hilton to get a good night's sleep. It was nice. The air conditioner unit in my room was a little loud, but it didn't keep me awake. The towels were nice, and the bedding was just fine. The ice machine... more

Nice hotel, friendly helpful staff, well equipped small gym, breakfast okay, executive lounge was nice, but no beer / wine. The town is very quiet, not much going on in Midland. There's a good restaurant down the block called ""Wall Street"". more

This is conveniently located in downtown Midland. Restaurants are close by--either walking distance, or a short drive to good restaurants. Also, free parking. The rooms were fine, and the staff was friendly. more

This was my first stay in a Hilton, and I was impressed with the room's decor and finishing relative to other hotels I've been in. Check-in was simple, parking was close and free, and the location was pretty good. Wired Ethernet was good for HSI, and the room was very clean. The complimentary bottled water was nice.\r \r Location was good as far as getting to the airport and finding food, but not much night life nearby for a downtown location--it was downright empty, and on a Friday night. more

The breakfast lady in the executive lounge is always a friendly face. I've looked forward to seeing her on my visits the past three years. Would like to see waffled like the Hampton Inn every now and then. I'm glad to see the rooms getting updated--they were getting old and worn. The downstairs restaurant could use an upgrade; I would eat there if it didn't have the feel of a Denny's. The food was not good that night and I haven't tried it since (2+ years ago). I'd give it another try if the menu has improved.. more

Wow! Very rarely have I stayed at a hilton that has everything right. The staff were awesome! The internet was AWESOME. The executive lounge has good breakfeast AND dinner!! My room was very comfortable and quiet! Did I mention that the internet was awesome! Having good internet at a hotel this size is a breath of fresh air. So few hotels have good internet like the hilton in downtown Midland. The good internet is why I will be coming back. The lady at the 9th floor executive lounge is so nice and it was a pleasure to see and talk to her each evening. Thanks for providing good breakfeast and dinner. I really, really enjoyed this hotel and I'm impressed with everything about it. Thank you for making my stay of the best I've ever experienced in my years of staying with Hilton. I'll definately see you again next time I'm in Midland. A room rate of $160/night is on the higher end but they really earn it with how well do everything. more

The desk staff was super courteous, the ATM machine was loaded (!yeah!), the room was so comfortable, the kind note from the staff on the desk table offering any help they could was a FIRST for me- just all so friendly and hospitable. Some days I just want to move there for a month and call it Home for me. Honestly, after I retire and take in contract work around the country, I plan to stay at Hilton Hotel whenever I can. And why not? I deserve it! more

The hotel staff was wonderful but the restaurants left something to be desired. The food was over cooked or just lacked flavor overall. I ate at two restaurants while I was there Bubbas and the Bistro breakfast, needless to say I would eat somewhere else on my next visit. more
