Dr. Ryan did his under graduate training at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. Attended Dental school at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska where he received his DDSdegree. He received a Masters Degree at University of North Carolina along with specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He retired as Colonel USAF after serving 34 years in both active and reserve service. Dr. Ryan has been chairman of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at both University of Colorado in Denver and the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He retired from practice at Medical College of Wisconsin but still has a faculty appointment as Professor Emeritus in the Department of Surgery.
Dr. Ryan is board certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Association, Wisconsin Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Wisconsin Dental Association, International College of Dentists, Winnebago Dental Association, and the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
