Dor NE Corset Shoppe

I've shopped in Dor-ne's for 12 years now. My original purchase was a strapless corset for my wedding dress. I've never had a bad experience and the fitting process is truly eye-opening. I continue to shop there because I know I will be treated with respect, I will ALWAYS walk out with a perfectly fitting bra and my husband loves the place. Angela Washington,DC more

I visited this shop yesterday, and received brusque service. The lady helping me only brought 3 bras, and when one of them "fit", she left me and said she'd be at the front desk to ring me up. She offered no additional assistance. When I got home and tried the bra on again, I decided that it really didn't fit any better than the bra I came in with (I'm a funny shape and it's really difficult--so far impossible--to find bras that fit right). Also, I could get the exact same bra for $20 less in another store, and in the right size (the one they sold me was a 30FF with a back extender, instead of the 32F that I actually wear). This in itself wouldn't be so bad, but then there is the store policy. When I returned today, less than 24 hours after my purchase to return it (and I live 45 minutes away), I was told that they do not accept returns. Though they don't at any time tell you this, and it's not written in their posted policy, they do not accept ANY returns, at all, for any reason, only store credit or exchange. Their store policy is written in such a way that it makes it seem like you have 7 days to return an item; my sister and I both read the policy while at the store and had that impression. When I expressed to the manager that I had not been told that there could be no returns, he replied that they don't tell people that! I eventually agreed to take store credit, and am having my sister buy it from me (it's a lot easier for her to find bras that fit correctly). But I myself will never set foot in the store again, and would recommend to steer clear of it. more

This is a shop that is entirely dedicated to underware, and specifically to bras. It is a great place to go if you have a difficult size or are looking for a special kind of bra. They sell bras in so many more sizes than are available in the department stores or at Victoria's Secret--and they aren't all matronly looking, either. When you get there they also will give you a bra fitting, which is truly a life changing experience, seeing how most American women are wearing the wrong size. They sell corsets, strapless bras, convertibles and just about any other kind you can think of. They have a lot of the more expensive names in bras, like Le Mystere and On Gossamer, but generally it is worth it to pay a little more for these, especially if you are looking for a bra for a special event. more
