I think dollar stores are ok if you don't buy alot of junk--i know people that go in and spend $40-or more!!! Some of their greeting cards are priced great, but most every thing is a lower grade of merchandise!!! Its ok for cheap kitchen containers, wraping paper, odds & ends, etc!! I did purchase some fun items for wedding shower game prizes! I just purchased 6 long shoe horns for stocking stuffers---maybe I just have to get into it!!!!!!!! more

Dollar General Store 10/3/2006

I go into the Dollar General store when I am waiting for a pizza to be ready at the pizza place next door. I rarely find much in there that I need or want. They have a lot of junky type stuff that you usually find at a real "Dollar Store" where everything is a dollar but in Dollar General Store, everything is usually more than $1 and it is just not worth it to me. Every now and then I find a deal but it is not often so I don't go there too much. more

I rarely shop there 4/8/2006

I rarely shop there only for couple thing like cooking oil or bateries that usually cheaper than regular store. also they have canned mushroom that cheap for only 50 cent a can, most place like acme or foodlion sell it for 99 cents or more. I cook with musroom a lot so I stock the mushroom for every couple week and buy a dozen from dolar general more
