Dog's Day Out

I have been taking my dogs to Dog's Day Out for over ten years. At present, I have ten small doggies who are treated wonderfully by Lauri and Keli. I often refer to the visit there as going to the doggie spa. None of my furkids have ever been cut and the staff is wonderful, caring, friendly, and enthustiastic. I cannot recommend this business highty enough. In fact, I have recommended this dog groomers many times over the years to my fellow Huntington Beach pet owning friends. more

I've been taking my standard poodle and collie for 2 years and am very satisfied. They give a good wash and clip (puppy cut for the poodle) for a reasonable price. This is not a posh salon or the place for a competition cut for a show dog; but I don't think most of us want a $200 clip. This is the best and most consistent service I've experienced in this price point. The ladies are very polite, appear to enjoy their work, and treat the dogs well. more

Keli and Laurie run an outstanding business. I come all the way from Stanton to bring my Max, and he is always so excited! The entire staff is so loving and fun. They care about doing a great job, and the dogs are very happy. Keli and Laurie take the time so say hello to my daughter and me. We love Dogs Day Out!!! more

We took our 3 dogs to this groomer and although we had been there before, we NEVER had such a bad experience. I have one black lab that had knee surgery last November,2010 and even showed them a picture of her xrays with screws and plates in her left knee. I asked them to be very careful with her. When we went to pick her up, she was limping soooo badly on her right front leg I could not beleive it!! I asked them what happened, but they said nothing happened. We brought our other 2 dogs home, and I called the groomer back just to ask if ANYTHING could have happened and she said no. I then asked how could this have happened? She said ""well, anyone stupid enough to let their dog jump out of a 4X4 should not have a dog"". My car is a mini SUV (a Suzuki) with back seats 31"" off the ground. We took our lab straight to our vet hospital. The Dr. looked at her leg and foot and saw swelling. He did xrays but did not find anything broken. She had a pain shot and I was told to give her 2 other meds at home. That night she just cried and winced in pain. The next day she is doing somewhat better but still limping and very swollen in her foot. This is NOT a place I would recommmend nor will I EVER go back there. more

DOG'S DAY OUT IN ON BEACH BLVD. AT MAIN/ELLIS this grooming salon is absolutely the best in HUNTINGTON BEACH if not in all of ORANGE COUNTY. the grooming is great, friendly staff, clean facility. my dogs are high maintance and need to go to the salon alot the prices are very reasonable and to be honest i would pay twice the amount they charge cause they look superb when they leave and are always happy to go back the next time. GREAT PLACE, NICE PEOPLE., DOGS ARE HAPPY. THIS STORE IS THE BEST PLACE I HAVE EVER BEEN IN. IT IS CLEAN (AND IT SMELLS GOOD INSIDE) THE DOGS ARE ALWAYS HAPPY TO GO IN AND SEE THE LADIES AND I ALWAYS BRING IN SOME MESSED UP DOGS ....DIRTY, SMELLY AND JUST LOOKING LIKE JUNK YARD DOGS BUT WOW WHEN I PICK THEM UP THEY LOOK AWESOME. I have been to many groomers and this has to be the best. Most places keep the animals locked up until closing, this place actually calls you when they are done. My dogs hate being in a small cage, especially when seperated. This is the only groomers that they will walk into without hesitation. The employees are extremely nice and are always willing to fit us in at the last minute. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves their pet. Pros: Great service, clean more

We are a first time client. I have two cats, Alibi and Maralade. We just moved to the Huntington Beach area. This salon has MANY customers around town. I was shocked, i went to 3 vets in the area (shopping around for the right vet for my kitties) and ALL of them recommended Dog's Day Out. Also several neighbors in my condo complex go there too. So i gave them a chance. BOY WAS I HAPPY i tried them out. My Babies came home happy, clean and smelling wonderful. They normally come home from a grooming outing ticked off and they hide for a day or two, not this time. They strutted around the living room like they are hot doo doo. WE WILL BE BACK!!! Pros: clean friendly loving establishment Cons: none that i saw more

I have three pit bulls and most people are afraid of my babies. Not the cool peeps are Dog's Day Out. My dog's go in there straight from the dog beach covered in sand and all wet. I go get something to eat and come back to pick them up they are totally clean,dry, (no sand) and smelling great!!!! i am not sure if my dogs are happier to go the dog beach or going to see the girls right after. i call the girls in the morning and let them know of my dog beach plan and they let me know when a good time is to bring the babies in, so they don;t have to stay all day. that is another thing i love about them they dont make the dogs stay all day, BUT MAKE AN APPOINTMENT cause they are busy!!!! I just popped in last year sometime not calling and it took a little longer (i am sure my dogs were happy for the longer visit). but they called me as soon as my babies were ready. That is something i havent found in other places... it is normally drop off first thing in the morning come back at closing..... forget that! We love this pet washing store and we are so happy our vet recommended them. Pros: NEW LOCATION (closer to my house) more

My dogs ( 2 Bouvier des Flandres ) have been going to them for 5+ years, i would never trust my beloved ""children"" to anyone but Dog's Day Out. Bonnie and Clyde (my 2 Bouvier des Flandres) are so happy to see the girls and the clip they put on them OMG they look like they are getting ready to go to the westminister dog show. i have never been so happy with a grooming salon as i am with Dog's Day Out. It is a win win situation with them....Bonnie and Clyde run in and practically jump in their arms and i get a total breed specification hair cut. what more could ya want!!!!! hi everyone, I am Keli and I am one of the two sisters that own Dog's Day Out. .About the comment ""JACKVOICE"" i looked at our records and we didnt do a dog named JACK within a 2 weeks spand of the date that comment was written so i have no idea what this person is talking about. If i was as dissatisfied as this person states i would have contacted the establishment and voiced my complaint to the person that made me so unhappy. i would never come on a search site and slander someones business. well i just want to let anyone out there that is reading those nasty remarks......give us a call, come down to the shop, I can give you hundreds of people names that would give us a wonderful recommendation. We have been in business over 10 years and have a very strong loyal customer base. Took our loving Llhasa Jack to get a bath and haircut and picked up a scared, unbathed, poorly cut dog that we did not recognize. He was upset for two days. Should have known from the condition of the shop there was something wrong. We have always been told that Jack is the ""best and easiest"" to groom, something went very very wrong with Dog's Day Out. Please do not take your pet here. I did not contact them to complain as it was evident that anyone who would treat the animals and customers with this much disrespect was not worth the energy. I would not have given them the opportunity to touch my Jack again anyway. more

I LOVE THIS COMPANY!! The staff is awesome, the hair cut is the best i have ever seen. my cat was soo happy. she strutted around the house like she knew she looked great. she was not all wierded out like she use to be when i took her other places. My cat will always go to DOG""S DAY OUT (p.s. they love cats too) that's a cute catchy little saying they have. they are very accomadating when you call for an appointment. i just can't say enough about this place. I LOVE THIS COMPANY!!!! more

Seriously I don't understand how someone could have given this place a bad review. I took my dog here and he absolutely LOVED the two women who work there. And this was his first time getting groomed too and he was NERVOUS. The place looks clean (CLEANER THAN LARGE CHAINS OF GROOMERS). They treated my dog sweetly and left him looking great. Now about the person who said someone was smoking... if they DO smoke they must do it outside because it does not smell like tobacco at ALL inside and I am someone who can smell tobacco from far away. Either way this is a great place. It might be a small business but I'll take my dog here for the rest of his life. Pros: They're flexible with schedule, clean, very sweet. alright i am all fired up about these ""IDIOTS"" bad comments!!! i get my 2 dogs done there and do to the aggressive problems with my dogs i stay with my dogs to be groomed. I have found NO groom shops that will allow me to do this. i have been evereywhere in this shop. the building maybe old but there is NO mold on the tubs, maybe ""doggi"" needs to get their eyes checked unless they are confused and can't tell the difference from porcelain covered cast iron tubs and mold. ok the cages that are on top of eachother... every groom shops,kennels, vet offices and pet stores the cages are nestle on top of eachother, is there any other way?? i have never seen a company with a single row of cages. now the smoking, one of them DOES NOT smoke and the other one goes out back in the designated smoking area. come on i think this person must need medication or something. she allows you to come back and look at the establishment with mold on the tubs, cigarette in mouth while holding a dog......LOL the only thing that is true about this comment is those 2 sisters are so sweet and very loving to the animals. i wouldn't go anywhere else in the world. and i tell everyone that compliments me on my dogs where i go. I actually had the ""privilege"" of seeing the actual work space where they wash the dogs. It is very very unclean. There is mold on the tubs and kennels are stacked poorly on top of each other. The ladies, while they are very sweet and kind to the dogs, also smoke, and walk around with cigarettes in hand, right by the dogs!! I was completely appalled. If this doesn't bother you, then they are very sweet ladies who do a good job, but I personally would prefer a place with some health and cleanliness standards.
