Our 2 dogs had a great time and were really well looked after at Doggy Camp. We loved the fact that is a cage free environment where the dogs can roam around the garden and house and therefore feel like they are at home. We also like the fact that Lee and Robin (Owners) only take a very limited amount of dogs at any point (which was very comforting for us as our dogs are Rescue Dogs and very ""needy"" and require a lot of attention). Our dogs also came out of their 11 days stay far more socialized with other dogs than they were when they went in. Its a big weight off our mind to know that when we need to go away, we are leaving them in very good care at Doggy Camp. We would highly recommend it. Pros: Lovely setting, owners are animal lovers, no cages (phew!) Cons: Its a 2 hour drive for us to get there, but its worth it more

Great place to board a dog! No cages and the dogs get a lot of exercise. I left my dog for a week while on vacation and was very pleased with the owners and they even gave me a DVD of my dog's stay. They owners were friendly and knowledgeable. They took a real interest in making sure they knew all about my dog before I left (eating habits). My dog was much happier there then in the last kennel I used. I would not hesitate to leave him there again. Pros: Good environment, experienced owners, small family owned business more

I brought my Chihuahua to doggiecamp several times and I was very pleased with how happy he was when I picked up. The video I was given showed him playing inside the house with a small Manchester Terrier and my dog was absolutely in love. My dog is not an easy dog and does not trust strangers easily but the owners seemed to gain his trust quickly he had a great time. \r \r The yard was very pretty and the house looked very clean and I liked that the floors were tiled and shiny. The place is up in the mountains, its very refreshing going up there. Also they were very nice about keeping my dog seperate from the bigger dogs. Its very nice for me that I can leave him someplace that he likes becasue I tend to worry about him when I am away from him, but I know when he is at camp, he is having fun. \r \r I also appreciate all the free training and the kind words, I know my dog can be a handful but they always have a smile and a good report. I just read phmahers review of Doggiecamp and I am stunned at the cruelty in her description. I have first hand knowledge of this establishment and nothing could be further than the truth. While it is true that dogs will bark when someone approaches, isn't that normal for dogs. They are very social and all are pets. The owners have three dogs of their own who socialize with the campers every day. They are exercised in the one acre enclosed yard in a redwood forest. There are large pots of fresh water everywhere. There is shade and a run area. There is always someone only feet away from them. Violent dogs are not accepted and if one gets in the owners are careful to immediately separate the dog from other campers. The hallway described is the length of the house and is kept open during the day so the dogs in the yard can come into the hall if they choose. There are some dog beds kept in there for them. Yes, there is a commercial washer and dryer in the hallway for keeping the beds and towels clean. This hallway can get dirty with dogs in and out all day. But it has porcelin floors and walls which are cleaned and disinfected regularly. Phmaher seemed upset about not getting a DVD of his/her dog. Perhaps this is why the unfair and untrue description of doggiecamp was written. Doggiecamp is a joy for the animals and for their owners who can relax while they are away knowing their pets are happy, safe and part of a loving family. I was very worried when I saw the previous review, but when I visited the place I was knocked out. The place was a house with a very large, planted yard. I counted 5 dogs there and the place was very clean. I did not see any dog feces in the yard and it smelled very clean versus a kennel which always seems to have a bad smell. Rocky had a great time, he came home very happy and seemed to like to owners very much. I was happy that he could be outside and have a safe environment to play in, he actually doesn't get out too much at home.\r I did receive a dvd of my dog, it was cute. ABout 15 minutes of my dog playing around with other dogs in the yard set to music. I LOVE this place, I can finally go away without worring about my dog! I have recommended them to my friends. My dog had a great time at Doggiecamp. He's a small dog but seemed to fit in well. I was so happy to have found a place with no cages. They also gave me a DVD of my dog at camp which was a hoot to watch with the family. Pros: great location, NO CAGES! Cons: none! more
