I was expected to pick up my friend's dog while my friend was out of town. I got there on a Sunday. First, the dog had been kept away from the other dogs because apparently he was too active so when i arrived there, he wasn't with the other dogs but in the lobby crying. He was so happy to see me.\r \r Second, after i took the dog in my car, i noticed the dog was bleeding. When i arrived home i examined the dog and i realized he had an injury next to his mouth. Guess what? The dog was clipped by the staff at the Doggy Playhouse AND:\r \r 1. they did it poorly\r 2. they did it WITHOUT the consent of the owners.\r \r It is my understanding that upon contacting the business, the business acknowledged the error, made an apology but did have the audacity to reply back: ""there's nothing that can be done now.""\r \r This is a horrible, unprofessional business and i strongly recommend residents to stay away from it. more

If you look for a place to safely board your dog, this is NOT your place, I took my Giant Schnauzer to this place and it was boarded for 2 nights also I paid for bath and nails. I specific asked not to groom this dog because it is a showing dog and need special grooming. When I got the dog back he was bleeding from his mouth and also they groomed his beard and muzzle. First they told me that he chewed on a brush then I noticed the grooming. On this kind of dogs you shouldn't groom the beard (muzzle) at all. I selected this place because it was expensive and I thought they will take care of my dog but I was totally wrong, I wouldn't recommend this place to you if you care about your dog. more

Such a relief to know that my dog is in such a fun loving atmosphere! The staff is awesome and they take great measures to get to know your dog and to keep you posted as to how they are doing. She is happy and tired when she gets home!!!! A top notch recommendation!!!! more

Great dog day spa 1/11/2012

Our dog has enjoyed Doggie Playhouse since it opened. He loves it and the staff is just super with all the guests. Great grooming, too. more

Very Satisfied "Grandma" 12/11/2011

I'm so happy to have Jeff and his staff to take care of my two granddogs when my schedule is busy! They begin wagging their tail as soon as I pull into the parking lot and also look great after being groomed there. more

This is the best doggie daycare ever! The boarding service provided is outstanding. The grooming services are superb. The staff is amazing. Jeff (the owner) is like the Palatine dog whisperer! Why would anyone go anywhere else? more

Doggie Playhouse is GREAT! 1/20/2011

We have been taking our dog Ace to Doggie Playhouse for the last year plus and I could not be happier with their service. Ace loves going there, socializes with other dogs and comes home really tired. The staff is awesome and you can tell they all really loves dogs. Ace's tail spins frantically everytime he sees them. The staff has accommodated every request we have ever had for pick up and drop off times - even when they were supposed to be closed. I enthusiastically recommend them to every dog owner I know. more

Great Place For Your Pet! 1/2/2011

This is by far one of the nicest, professional and fun place to take your pet. Everyone that works at this establishment cares for our dog like it is their own.\r \r The cost is very affordable, the hours are flexible (even on Saturday) and convenient.\r \r I highly suggest you stop by and meet the staff.\r \r If I had a recommendation, it would only be to add a play cam in each room so that I can watch my pet play and get the best care in Chicago.\r \r HIGHLY RECOMMENDED more

Outsatnding service and dedicated employees 12/28/2010

our dog Stitch (Italian Greyhound) has been going to Doggie Playhouse since it ioened more than 7 years ago. Stitch just turned 8. The dedicated staff are very committed to the well being of each and every dod that visits Doggie Playhouse. From playing to observing a change in their behavior, they have always been on top of things!! Stitch is excited everytime he sees Doggie Playhouse and can't wait to see " his people friends" - not to mention his dog buddies and his favorite friend Gracie. We have been extremely pleased with the service, attention and care that Stich receives each and every visit. We consider Doggie Playhouse his second home. Thanks to Jeff for running a top notch establishment. more

What a great doggie daycare! 12/1/2009

This is the best place to take your dog. The staff is so friendly and accomodating. Our dog can barely wait to get out of the car when we pull up to the door. It is great socialization and he gets to play the whole time. The grooming is great too!! Highly recommended!! more

If you want a tired dog, take them here! 2/24/2006

Jeff is a great owner! He is very understanding and is great with my dog. I always take my dog when my mom's 3 dogs go, and the employees know us by name. They take such good care of the dogs, and they know when to give some kennel time outs! My dog always comes home tired and loves to go back. PROS: great staff, great location, tired dog CONS: a little pricey, dogs come home smelly sometimes more
