This is a great comfort food restaurant. The building is an old mill, 200 years old and has a view of a creek and an island. The inside of the restaurant is rustic and filled with antiques. \r

They are nothing but comfort food, fried chicken, steaks, country ham, chicken livers, braised brisket, hot browns, etc. There are a choice of 10 sides. Since the new management took over in January, all the food is much improved. They use fresher ingredients and they make everything in house now. The chicken is all cooked to order.\r

On Sunday, they have a huge buffet with bbq, fried chicken, meatloaf, other meats, soups, salad bar, lots of sides, and lots of desserts. It's pretty good and a lot of church groups and families come in after church. They tell me that there have been generations of families that married here, had their reunions here, and even had their ashes spread on the island. It's really a community resource.\r

Probably the most overlooked part of the place is the breakfast and lunch menu. They have a ton of choice and you can get in and out a lot quicker than you can for dinner. People from out of state fall in love with this place and they have yearly reservations from people who have to make the trip at least once a year.
Pros: Food, decor, view
Cons: No cell service
