Dodge Boarding Kennels

I rate this kennel 5 stars because of the love and attention they always give our dogs. They truly love all animals. The physical space is old but our dogs could care less. They jump out of our car when we pull up because they love the 2 women who run it. We have used this kennel for years & will continue to do so. By the way, they also take in any abandoned animal & care for them in a loving way out of their own pockets. We love their hearts! more

If you love your pet, DO NOT under any circumstance take him/her to this kennel. It is TERRIBLE!!!! The facility is disgusting and the staff are despicable. My family's dogs were left here for a week, during which time the following happened: both dogs lost a considerable amount of weight, both dogs got FLEAS (They were both taken to the vet a few days prior to being boarded to be checked over & receive their kennel cough vaccines. They did not at that time, nor have they EVER had fleas prior to this), one dog was returned with areas on and around his head that were missing fur & chafed (as though a muzzle was used & the dog tried to remove it. This dog also had no ability to bark upon returning home.), both were very withdrawn and seemingly exhausted. The disgusting people who work here were fantastic at assuring us that all needs and requirements for the dogs would be met while in their care, but in reality our dogs were greatly mistreated, malnourished, and everything that we had been told was only ""lip service"". When these concerns were taken to the woman who runs the hole, she fabricated stories, seemed unconcerned and actually suggested that we bring the dogs BACK in for inspection by her. As if we would even CONSIDER subjecting our pups to being brought back!! PLEASE save you and your fur family the anguish and trouble by finding a reputable and caring facility for boarding.......not this terrible place - IT SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN! more

Our dog, Maddie, is one of the most energetic dogs we’ve ever had, so when we were planning our vacation I was skeptical of leaving her with just anyone. I was afraid that because she is so active, cooping her up for a week would make her think that she was being punished. Before leaving, I tried to reassure her as much as I could that she wasn’t doing anything wrong, assuming that she would be caged for the entirety of our trip. Upon our return, much to my surprise, we learned that Maddie spent the entire week following around the owners; “helping” them with their daily duties and meeting several new friends. The workers at the Kennel have a true knack for animals, which we learned when they gave us a tour of the lobby. They are able to handle anything from turtles to ferrets to chickens with the same amount of love that we offer our own pets. Maddie bonded with the owners though out the course of that week and, although she was happy to see us, we were almost unable to get her into the car because she didn’t want to leave. Maddie now knows that from now on, whenever we go on vacation, she gets to go on a vacation as well. The workers at Dodge Boarding Kennels go out of their way to care for your pet because they absolutely love what they are doing and I would highly recommend this Kennel to anyone who wants their pet to have the best. *5 out of 5 stars more

No one listen to that Nrogers80 (Firedancer80) idiot, the place is great and the employers are also great. This person has been going on multiple reviews just to make them look bad. Possibly a flamer/troll. The girls work hard and bathe the animals, feed the animals, and keep the place clean. This whole bullsh*t story about his dumbas* dog being covered in feces is ridiculous. Especially after only ONE day. LOL. Make it believable if you're going to lie and talk sh*t. Also, they wouldn't be able to write so many posts with so many accounts. They honestly don't know how to use computers so advance like. Anyway, this isn't a made up opinion, this is fact and they are totally worth bringing your pet here. They get lots of love. Trust me, I come here to drop my dog and cat off all the time. :p more

I left my dog here for 10 days while on our honeymoon. Sheila and Maria are the two nicest people in the world for taking care of our handicapped dog. He required a lot of specialized care and they were willing to do it at no extra charge. They made sure he was comfortable, walked, and ate and drank like normal. more

The staff at Dodge Boarding Kennels TRULY go ABOVE AND BEYOND for your pets! Do not judge this book by it's cover. Like others have said, it may not be the newest facility, but what the kennel lacks in aesthetic frills, it MORE than makes up for in genuine love and compassion for ALL animals. The staff honestly treats each of their boarders as part of their own personal family. It is truly touching to witness. They are AWESOME!! It is such a blessing to have a place where your pets actually LIKE to go while you're away - so you know that they are having just as much fun as you!! Thank you, Dodge Boarding Kennels!! I would strongly recommend them to any pet lover!! more

While I will agree with another user review that the facility is not the newest, it is by far the GREATEST! The employees are so caring and compassionate, they have never met an animal that they didn't love and/or want to help. As proof of this, they also run an animal rescue center there. They take in any animal who is no longer loved/cared for and give it everything it needs and then some! I have taken my dog there several times and she gets more attention there than when she is at home. She has always been cared for with attention to detail. For this amazing service, I would be willing to pay twice what other places charge - however, I am so pleased to say that the prices here are WONDERFUL! You're not going to find a better deal - wonderful care for your animals and some money left to spend on your vacation! I strongly recommend them to any animal owner!!! more

I have taken my dogs to Dodge Boarding Kennels many times and have always been very satisfied with the love and attention my dogs have been shown. By far the staff at Dodge Boarding Kennels are the most loving people for animals that I have ever come across. The staff is always willing to go out of their way to make our animals feel comfortable in a kennel setting and well cared for. They go above and beyond and are also so reasonably priced. I would also like to mention that the care and compassion shown to the animals that are at the kennel as part of the rescue center is amazing. All these animals, which are not wanted and many have disability problems are cared for at the cost of the owner . This just shows how much the staff love what they do because they love animals and care about them 110%. more

This place is without a doubt the worst place I have ever taken an animal to stay for 24 hours. The poor animal must have thought he was being punished for some unspeakable crime. I have no idea who these other comments are from claiming such outstanding service... Either it's close personal friends or the business owners themselves. Because I would hate to think anyone would gladly expose their animal to this kind of inhumane treatment time after time. After reading these ""great reviews"" I reluctantly took a chance on this place to watch my dog. Because I was stuck in a bind and had no other options I brought him here. Looking back I think the dog would have been better off fending for himself. Upon picking him up from the kennel, my poor dog was limping, bleeding on his feet, covered from shoulder to tail in his own feces, and his ears dripping with saliva, I assume from another dog. After getting home my dog acted like he had not drank anything in weeks and was only gone for 24 hours.The place was filthy. Sickly looking animals roaming around freely, in the customer area. And above all the staff was rude, unaccommodating, and of very poor hygiene themselves. Not that I expect people that work with animals on an every day basis to be in suit and tie, but it's still a business, look respectable to say the least. If I could give less stars then 1 I would. more

I heard about Dodge from someone who boards there and went to check them out. Despite appearances, this place is clean, and the people were so nice. I was surprised to find a plethora of animals available for adoption here too! You'll understand the ""unique"" appearance of this place when you hear about the animals they save and care for day after day at what must be an enormous cost. There's an epileptic chicken that likes to watch TV, as well as various birds, cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, reptiles, and a tortoise... all waiting for good homes. Not only would I board my animals here, I'd adopt even more from here! more

I have boarded my dogs at several different kennels... some were high buck, some brand-new and spanking clean, and I've often come away thinking that my dogs look like they've been completely ignored for days. They seem to crave attention at these places. But not at Dodge Boarding Kennels. I can tell my dogs truly love being here. Their eyes shine when they see Maria and Shiela. They are loved and praised and well cared for here, and that means more to me than the outward appearance of a facility. I will continue to bring my dogs here time and time again. more
