So Worth The Drive!!!!!! 10/6/2009

I love soul food! My boyfriend and I look for good soul food restaurants all of the time. We drove from Greensboro to try this one. Usually something is a little off. The food is good, but the staff is nasty. The staff is friendly but the food is so-so. Or the worst...the restaurant is not clean. But this place had all three!!! Good food, clean restaurant and very friendly and welcoming staff!! It is our best find yet. We enjoyed fish, country steak, mac'n'cheese, cornbread, cabbage, goodness I wish I could have eaten more. We had to go walking afterwards we ate so much!!! It is a great place. I highly recommend it! Pros: Clean, Friendly Staff, Delicious Food more

Food for the Soul 5/4/2008

Not only do they serve really great soul food, it is soul food for the community. I was gratified to see community meetings being held there and the patrons in the restaurant always seem quite interested in community issues. There were even election rallies. I appreciate spending my money in places that are trying to be good community partners. Pros: The variety of well-prepared food changes daily more

Outstanding Food, Great Customer Service, Excellent Price 11/27/2007

The food is outstanding and the service is great. It is always nice to be greeted by a smiling face and the hostesses and cashiers always greet each customer warmly. Each time I have dined at Dr. J's there has been a diverse menu. I highly recommend this soulfood restaurant!! The prices are excellent and they also have good meeting space.
