I called David Resetar a couple of days before a 5 days course was going to start to find out about payment options and what to bring on the first day of class. I wanted to get my G1 smog certificate and he is one of 3 places you can go to in Las Vegas to take such a class. I asked him if he takes cash only. He said not to worry about it and just show up to class. So I showed up to the first day to class today on 4/16/12. The first thing that he says is that he, ""cusses a lot so if we didn't like cussing that we should leave now"". There were 5 students including myself.
He hands me a notebook and a cheap pen and says, ""$200"". I was thinking what a joke and he didn't really do anything. No introduction or anything at all. I wanted to pay by card which would make sense because it is a smog station and they always take credit or debit. He rudely told me to go across the street and get cash from the ATM which would charge me a high debit fee. And no please or thank you or anything. He couldn't have been more rude and nasty. I said, ""I talked to you on the phone the other day and you said to just show up"". He again rudely cut me off before I had the chance to finish my sentence and yelled that he does not accept credit or debit and how indifferent he was to us. Saying that people leave the first day. He rudely waved me off with the hand to get lost like as if I was a worthless person. In America people treat dogs better then the way he treated me.
After that I left to never come back. Keep in mind that I was also taking this class to help get my mind off of things and to transition to a better job. I had just recieved news yesterday that my Mom had terminal illness and so I was grieving. And for that man to treat me with no respect or regard the way he did was not only morally wrong but also highly unethical.
I don't blame the many students who walked away from his class. The instructor David Resetar has no class. He hasn't a clue what is the proper way to treat people with dignity and respect. He is in the wrong field of work. He should get a job where he never has to interact with people at all because based on what I have seen he is not qualified to work with people. I'm sure he upsets people all the time. He is very rude, selfish and conceited. That is why all his students don't like him because he is not a likable person.
Also for him to charge $200 for 5 days of instruction is a massive rip off. At the Casino dealer training schools in town they charge less than that for over 30 days of instruction! All of the G1 and G2 license training schools in Nevada charge $200 or more. Price fixing is illegal. I really think these people should lower the price or be fined heavily for price fixing. Honda even had to pay a huge settlement for price fixing their car parts recently.
David Resetar is the epitome of exactly what is wrong with the United States today. That is precisely why the States will never be a perfect place to live because of people like David who are killing the American dream. Making all of us unhappy and disgruntled. And ripping as off so we never have the money to buy the things we really need like just the bare necessities.
I firmly believe that David needs to change his line of work or have an early retirement. He is simply not cut out for the type of work that he does. Instructors should build their students up and make them better people. Not tear them apart and upset them and rip them off. Or cuss constantly using so much profanity. That's part of the reason why I didn't commit to his class because I didn't want to deal with his negativity with all the cussing while grieving over the loss of my Mother. Not only that but David has a horrible attitude problem and needs a complete attitude adjustment.
For the love of God. Just avoid this place altogether. Go somewhere where they actually treat people with respect and dignity.
