Doc's Petland Inc

I went into Doc's Petland just today to look for hamster supplies. While I did not buy anything I was absolutely horrified to see 2 guinea pigs in a 10gallon tank and what broke my heart even more, was the gerbils. They had to be about 10 adult gerbils, along with maybe 10 or more young gerbils and amongst them all about 3 newborn litters! All in a 10 gallon TANK! Then in the aisle there was another 10 gallon take with about 15 male gerbils. Because of this I will NEVER Step foot into this pet store, they have lost a potential customer. more

I like family run buisiness, and this one is pretty good, they have good fish supplies, and the people really aren't as mean as everyone says. Overall, its pretty good. Pros: Good products and live stock Cons: not the nicest staff, a bit pricey more

While the staff is not friendly, clueless teenie boppers that tend to greet you at stores like Pet smart they are very knowledgeable about dog nutrition. Docs carries the best food line I have seen in a pet store, I have not come across a chain that carries Evo or Orijen in their store let alone both like Docs. I have never come across a changed expiration date on any dog food at their store, now that I think about it for a second?couldn?t the distributer have changed it and scammed Doc?s? In my opinion this family seems very trustworthy an honest, albeit a little strange and aloof. If you want someone to hold your hand, smile and be super friendly this isn't the place for you, if you want people that have a vast knowledge about K-9 nutrition and feline needs this is definatly the place for you. If you are a bulldog owner, this is the place to go. They are extremely knowledgeable and generous with sharing their knowledge regarding the care and tricks of the trade when it comes to raising a bully. In the days of the huge superstores taking over all small businesses, it's nice to see a family run business still in existence. more

The staff here is rude and unproffesional. For example, they told me that I could keep 2 male hamsters together, knowing that I would have to come back soon to get a second cage (believe it or not, fluffy hamsters fight!). They also fail to say thank you or be in any way sypathetic to any difficulties you are having. You get the impression they want you to leave the store. However, their fish are healthy... I guess that's worth a star. Pros: Good fish... Cons: Bad service :( more

This place changed the expiration date on several bags of dog food from 2007 to 2008. They are rude, unfriendly, and greedy. Cons: They sell expired food after they change the expiration dates by hand. more
