Great Service 12/15/2011

They staff was wonderful.I need a prime rib for xmas and they said I had to order the size I needed.I told the meat service counter that I came from North Prov. And could not make it back here.Right away he had the butcher come out and made the roast for me in ten min.The butcher was very helpful. He cut everything right and also told me how to cook it. I wish there was one closer to my town.I will go back more

OUTSTANDING FOOD AND QUALITY 11/20/2011

this is the best run small market in Rhode Island with the best prices , fast service, people who serve you are glad to take care of your orders quickly and with nice people taking care of your needs. A great hot foods dept. outstanding seafood section and a great meat dept. with an outstanding meatcuter on staff. I think the bad review was done by a person from the compitition who has seen what a really well run operation can do to cut prices while giving the best quality. Everything is fresh,it would have to be due to the fact they sell so much that it does not have time to get old. Meat is alway being refilled as it sells out so quickly as does the fish which is just so fresh. I see the owner out on the floor filling orders, unloading trucks and doing what it takes to run a first class operation. Bottom line. It is a great place to go if you want fresh products, lowest prices, good service, great selection and meat cut to order if you need it. I just do not know how they come out with the prices they have. It is just unbelevable. I save huge amounts of money every time I go in and come out with better products than the competition. Do not miss this place. It is a WOW winner. more

Prices are good if you don't mind paying for disrespect 2/10/2011

The negatives are outweighing the positives by at least 5 to 1. It is a shame that they went back to the old way of doing business that caused them to close the last time they treated people like annoyances. The negatives: 1,Many of the employees are rude. 2. The owner is rude and curt with both his help and the customers. 3.Some of the produce is sold past their sell by dates by putting a price sticker over the date. 4.Much of their packaged meat have no sell by dates on packages. 5. The customer comes last. The one and only positive: The prices are good if you don't mind paying the higher price of being disrespected. ---I'll be giving my business to Sandy Lane Market and Price Rite from now on as will my friends and family. more

just in customer service only 10/22/2010

I hate to even say it...but lately the customer service has been terrible...do I dare say it is as bad as it was years ago before they closed. There will be a line out the door and either there is no one available or who ever is ring refuses to ask for help. It should be a rule, if there are more than 3 customers in line back up should be called to ring. I don't know what happened to the manners of the employees but it is sad that I don't even get thank you after you spend your hard earned dollars. I can't even tell you how frustrating it is to watch people pay with for seafood and prime cuts of meat with welfare dollars and I have just stood in a long line and paying with my money and not to even get a hello or a thank you. This is always apparent when the owners are not in. more

Original Owners Return and Are Even Better than Before They Left! 9/1/2008

I went to Dockside the last week in August 2008 for the first time since they reopened under the returned original ownership. What a wonderful surprise! Perfectly fresh fish (the haddock was incredible), delicious salads (the most tender snail salad, with great flavor, I've had in years) and a spinach salad made with garlic, olive oil and black olives that was delicious both chilled and reheated. They had an amazing selection of fine quality meats (my dad was a butcher and I KNOW my meat!) at surprisingly low prices; fresh deli items with a good assortment. The fruits and veggies were a bit higher in price than expected, but then they are a side issue, there only for shoppers' convenience when they come for the fresh fish, meats and ready to serve foods and salads, and a few cents more for bananas meant I didn't have to stop elsewhere: worth it to me !. I bought from every department, and was uniformly impressed, as was my husband (and he is an expert on fish) with freshness, taste and quality of all. I don't know what sort of bad day was going on when the previous reviewer was there, but the day I was there the employees were attentive and cheerful, accommodating in every way, and appeared to enjoy working there, and with one another, and actually were having a good time! I would recommend Original Dockside Seafood to anyone, especially those wanting to pick up ready to eat, or quickly heat and serve fresh foods on their way home from work. Welcome back, Docksiders.....I didn't realize just how much I missed you! Pros: High quality, fresh, fair prices, good service Cons: exiting parking area in traffic is tough more

Horrible Horrible Place To Shop 8/21/2008

This place is terrible and highly unproffesional. The deli employees here NEVER get my order correct. The owner does not deserve to have a business seeing as though he LIES to us customers and he treats his employees like slaves-WITHOUT a break for a ten-hour shift (can you say illegal!). I will never again spend even a cent at this establishment and I urge everyone who reads this to find a different place to buy your seafood and food. I suggest to shop at the always wonderful Whole Foods which is worth the short drive. The employees there are well taken care of by their employer and love to go to work every day; you can tell by just walking through the door. Please take my advice and take your business elsewhere. You will be much happier! Pros: Nada Cons: Service, Attitude, Ambience more
