Senses realized:\r
\r
Taste: old Florida fresh.\r
\r
Sight: skyline of Old Florida and the neuvelle look of modern accomplishments.\r
\r
Touch: the cold frosty beer in a glass, tells you that you are going to replenish all that damage to your body - the sun did while you were out scallopin, this afternoon. Talk about scallopin' the best fun we had as family in years. Even my daughters (city girls) liked the experience. The waters are cool and salty, while the sun is relaxing as it is bright.\r
\r
Hearing:\r
Gulls and motorboats are only heard as the sounds a good time from the upstairs bar subsides.\r
\r
Atmosphere:\r
""Dockside"" cafe can't be a better name. I was there and the staff was saying ""we are going to 86 the grouper (from the menu)"", then another voice came out of nowhere saying ""wait!; they are cutting it now"". Looking down at the dock just below our seats at the raised level of the bar, there are couple guys unloading the fish from the boat and filleting the grouper, while another guy rushes down from the upstairs kitchen and waits for the fillet to bring back up to cook for us.\r
That is fresh!\r
I wish we could get a dinner like this back home.\r
\r
Ambiance of Florida:\r
Seaside views and feel. What more can you say. You are right on the cusp of the harbor. Sailing and motor yachts are tied up only feet from where are sitting eating our ""fresh"" Florida grouper. \r
\r
Sunsets -- A MUST! Wait until you see what happens when the sunsets and a storm front has brought with it a cloud cluster that fills the sky except for that big bright Orange ball cresting in the horizon.\r
\r
People - staff, quick and they burst with that ""southern"" charm. I think only here can you get the staff that is unrelentless pleasant. The yes sir's and yes mamm's are as plentiful as the gull?s transverse the azure sky. I like the ""southern"" tone; it is cute, coming from a freckled face 20-something!\r
Pros: Local fresh seafood dishes
Cons: Warm in the Summertime
