Best

Dixie's has a fun, authentic atmosphere and all their soul/cajun food is great. Check out their Sunday bruch--bloody marys, jambalaya, sweet potato pancakes...can't go wrong! ...

Good Food 8/11/2004

I stopped by for dinner on a week night. I sat at the bar and the tenders were very good. Ordered one of their pork sandwiches with a side of beans. When I asked if coleslaw came with or was another side the bartender made sure to add it in, nice touch. The sandwich was excellent and the beans were spicy with all kinds of stuff added in like onions and little pork bits. The wait staff hovering around the bar by me were very friendly and even some of the patrons were fun to chat with. Pros: Food, Location, Service more

Special Order Queen? 5/27/2003

A friend and I met here for lunch recently. I ordered Sesame Chicken Mushroom Melt - no mushrooms. It was good. Perfect seasoning and taste. Succatash was not bad. Would get the fries or the garlic mashed next time. Friend had 'cajun' chicken strips, which were not cajun. They were your standard chicken strips. We also ordered dessert, a steaming brownie sundae. Mmmmm.....I highly recommend this. Dixie's is good, but not a place I HAVE to go to. Good service. Pros: Service more

Whistlin' Dixie 1/17/2003

To its credit, Dixie's is not too noisy and its bar is woodsy. The bar standards we ordered were quite tasty (wings, nachos, gumbo). Its ""famous jerky,"" believe it or not, is actually delicious. Beer selection was small, it seemed to lack the ""critical mass"" I need for my wife and I to be satisfied. Downsides were that the televisions are few and small with only one event televised. Music, though not too loud, is not well-chosen. After we finished, both my wife and I were a little queasy because I think the food was very greasy and larded. And the bill, 42 dollars for two despite happy hour prices, makes it one of the pricier after-work options. Pros: parking, woodsy bar, beef jerky Cons: pricey, greasy bar food more

Excellent and fast service!! 11/16/2002

Dixie's is a place I sometimes forget about, but every time I go I really enjoy the experience. The servers are extremely friendly and attentive, the late-night food hits the spot, and bar is open and spacious. Thanks for a great night again Dixie's! more

Our Favorite 10/10/2002

One of our favorite's among the grand avenue restaurants. The portabello mushroom burger is to die for, and their soulfries are another good choice. Have never been dissapointed with the service. Looking for good food and a good time go here. Pros: Great Service Cons: Small parking lot more
