The first time I visited Dixie Kitchen I had a great experience. When I visited last night it was terrible! Our food took over 45 to be brought to the table and when it arrived it was cold. Everything was cold. The gumbo had congealed over the top. When we made a complaint about the state of the food it took over ten minutes for the "person in charge" to come out to talk to us. And it wasnt until after we stood up with our coats on that she did. Then we were first asked if the waitress offered to heat it up for us. We refused to eat the food and were told we had to pay for it all. We paid only for what we consumed, the fried okra and fried green tomatoes. The stench from the bathrooms could be smelled in the seated waiting area. I wouldn't be surprised if the place was shut down soon by the health department. Even if my meal would have been offered as free I wouldn't have eaten it. I want to save other customers from a bad experience. I hope the standards of food preparation and customer service are significantly increased and soon.
